ROLE SUMMARY AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive working environment in all interactions
  • Participate in planning, implementation, and growth of our Cloud strategy
  • Review cloud services and define Operation and Security controls. Design and implement automations to remediate infrastructure deviances from controls.
  • Create standards for Cloud Operations and infrastructure deployment. Create and utilize infrastructure versioned templates that meet these standards and make them accessible to product teams for application automated deployment.
  • Consult and make recommendations on Cloud based application deployments to ensure that they follow best practices in the areas of Security, Availability, Cost Optimization, and compliance controls.
  • Coordinate across support teams to quickly resolve disruptions to technology services, perform root cause analysis, and recommend / implement preventative measures
  • Review planned changes for alignment to target state and for adherence to policies before being implemented into the technology environment
  • Work across teams to review technology portfolio and make recommendations for procedures and practices
  • Hold associates and teams accountable for adhering to practices and policies
  • Review production readiness of technology solutions and application deployments
  • Review performance trends across the broader technology portfolio and initiate actions to address areas at risk for potential impacts
  • Proactively identifies and addresses vulnerabilities across the technology environment
  • Evaluate capacity utilization and initiate projects to address areas of excess and shortages proactively
  • Uses industry knowledge and analytical thought to identify innovative solutions
  • Solicit diverse perspectives and input from others to deal with emerging issues or identify effective approaches for completing work
  • Act as advisor to management and key external stakeholders on broad-ranging projects
  • Provide feedback and coaching to others who have management responsibility of resources
  • Develop and mentor diverse talent on the team
  • Proactively helps team members/make suggestions to improve practices
  • Accountable for work of self and others; set standards around which others will operate
  • Maintain a broad internal professional network and know when to engage/activate it

REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years of relevant IT experience
  • 4+ years of experience building and supporting solutions on Amazon AWS
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure
  • Proficiency administering and troubleshooting Windows and Linux server platforms
  • Knowledge/experience with Docker containers
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, ADFS, DNS, DHCP solutions
  • Knowledge/experience with observability tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, and cloud native tools is desirable
  • Knowledge/experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitLab and Artifactory.
  • Knowledge/experience with Cloud Management tools - (prefer Terraform, Vault, Packer)
  • Fluent in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Go, or .Net) Python preferred
  • Proven ability to automate using scripting and/or programming using serverless technologies
  • Effectively uses logic as a problem-solving tool
  • Communicate technical ideas and concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Able to clearly articulate operational principles, practices, and policies
  • Provide accurate and timely status for their own work and escalate when necessary
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies
  • Work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
  • Be on-call and/or work during off-hours
