The Role: Investment Associate - Special Situations (German Native Speaker)

The Team:

This unique opportunity offers a chance for an aspirational and ambitious German native speaker to join a specialist investment management team as an Investment Associate. The firm's investment strategy comprises of a broad access to capital (including private pools, sovereign and institutional investors) bespoke investment solutions and deep experience and knowledge across the firm allowing for optimised execution for each transaction along with operational expertise.

They actively manage their portfolio assets working closely with management to restructure, develop and drive growth of the business to maximise value for all stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • In depth credit analysis and due diligence
  • Performing detailed financial and market research and analysis
  • Preparing various complex financial models including cash flow analysis and LBO
  • Preparing investment committee memos
  • Preparing presentations and pitches for internal and external use
  • Analysing investment performance including maintaining and updating investment valuations and financial models as well as keeping track of relevant current market activities
  • Assisting in negotiating and preparing the legal documentation
  • Assisting in investment closings and structuring investment process
  • Meeting with management teams and sponsors when assessing new investment opportunities and monitoring the existing portfolio
  • Additional duties include providing direct support as deemed necessary by senior portfolio management and investors

Requirements:
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree required from a top tier institution
  • You must be a German native speaker without sponsorship requirements for working in the UK
  • Strong intellect with excellent quantitative, financial and analytical skills
  • Genuine passion and interest in Special Situations financing and VC investment
  • 2-5 years' experience from an investment banking background in either restructuring, M&A or leveraged finance/and or within buyside credit
  • Advanced MS Excel modelling and MS PowerPoint skills (tested during application process)
  • Entrepreneurial and relationship driven
