About our client
Our client is a leading solar energy company working across Europe to support the transition to a net-zero future. They are looking for an Associate to join their corporate development team, based in London. The team will originate and lead the closing of new transactions and partnerships, lead or assist in transactional events with individual projects, lead and collaborate in multi-functional teams to deliver strategic projects and serve as the centre of excellence for financial and investment analysis to support decision making across the organisation.
What the job involves
  • Supporting directors in origination of new opportunities, preparing presentations, calls, and meetings with counterparties
  • Preparing bids, offers, or term sheets for new opportunities, in coordination with specialists
  • Closing transactions for new opportunities, leading various commercial workstreams (due diligence, financial modelling, approvals) and providing project management for the team
  • Supporting on commercial and financial workstreams or analysis for transactional events with projects
  • Leading or supporting strategic projects, contributing to commercial and financial workstreams
  • Creating and reviewing robust financial models and other business modelling, to aid in strategy and investment decision making, suggesting appropriate analysis, running analysis, and reviewing or training other staff
  • Preparing investment and other memoranda, and presenting opportunities to management, the investment committee, and the shareholder
  • Providing analysis and input into the investment strategy
Who we are looking for
  • Strong experience building, utilising and reviewing financial models, in both corporate and project finance disciplines and with an understanding of infrastructure and energy modelling
  • Have a high level of expertise in understanding and utilising foundational knowledge for the role including, finance and investment analysis, corporate finance, project finance, and energy. Working knowledge of legal, accounting, and technical concepts that relate to energy
  • Have a leadership mentality. When an initiative or project needs coordination and leadership, you naturally step in to provide it and are effective in collaborating across specialities and functions of an organisation
  • Have an ownership mentality and take pride in your work and responsibilities, problem-solving and going outside of your basic role when required, and seeing work through until the required outcome has been achieved. Have a high level of commercial acumen, able to identify opportunities, develop successful business models or investment propositions, and a working knowledge of key trends in the industry
  • Have the ability to multi-task and prioritise for yourself, work flexibly including under periods demanding working hours to accommodate transactional timelines, all while maintaining quality work output and managing risk
