About this role:

Wells Fargo is looking to hire a Corporate Derivatives Salesperson to join the UK Risk Solutions team, a recently created private side sales team sat within Banking and Capital Markets. This hire reflects Wells Fargo's ambition to both grow its footprint in EMEA, whilst adequately capturing the respective ancillary wallet associated with it use of balance sheet.

In this role, you will:

Support the UK Risk Solutions team in executing the strategic plan set out by management to grow derivatives revenues from the UK corporate client base over the medium and long term. This will be achieved by:
  • Helping maintain consistent, professional, and value-added client coverage
  • Helping deliver sustainable risk management strategies to our UK corporate client base, whilst meeting and exceeding, risk and return metrics.
  • Helping develop and deepen client relationships by focusing on delivery of Wells Fargo's key product offerings
  • Help with analysis, modelling and pricing as required
The ideal client will also help in ensuring the business is adequately positioned internally by:
  • Building strong working relationships with banking and product partners
  • Supporting the team in producing MI used for internal discussions, both with line of business heads and senior management
  • Partnering effectively with all support areas to deliver superior customer service
  • Helping ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory rules, including MiFID, MAR and Dodd-Frank
  • Developing an understanding of the competitive landscape in the derivative industry and supporting the team for success in that environment
  • Ensuring adherence to Wells Fargo policies and procedures
Required Qualifications:
  • University degree (ideally in a numerically based subject)
  • 3+ years' experience in a front office sales role, ideally to UK Corporates
  • A good knowledge of Interest rate derivatives products and solutions.
  • A good understanding of broader capital markets
  • Must have appropriate licensing; FCA registration, US Approved Person
Desired Qualifications:
  • Understanding and relevant knowledge of derivative modelling and pricing, CVA, Basel III Capital, Credit and Risk metrics for derivatives
  • Understanding and experience with ISDA and other relevant documentation
  • Ability to partner with all critical constituents of the derivative process, including operations, compliance, legal, documentation, trading, etc. to assist in meeting client needs
  • Ability to work creatively, analytically and independently in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic, fast-paced and collaborative work environment
  • Able to operate with high diligence according to the internal risk and control framework
  • High degree of initiative and strong ability to meet key responsibilities with limited direction and oversight
  • Strong commercial judgement, excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and with various levels within the organization, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, in addition to having strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter, with the ability to recognize opportunities for improvement in the business and to act on those opportunities
  • Sound business judgment
  • Highest level of integrity and good judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality.
