As a Barclays Credit Risk Manager, you will drive value through appropriate Risk Management of relevant credit risk analytics and strategies for the Mortgage portfolios allocated (Residential, buy to let). You will apply your understanding of credit risk models with a specific focus on Capital / Basel, regulatory expected loss and Risk weighted assets. Working with your colleagues in the secured credit risk team you will ensure that return hurdles are maintained and strategies are optimised.

What will you be doing?
• Applying your knowledge of Credit Risk Models across the life cycle of Retail portfolios, with a focus on Capital / Basel, Regulatory Expected loss and risk weighted assets
• Utilise your understanding of key regulations - Prudential Regulatory Authority's (PRA) supervisory statement (SS11/13) and European Banking Authority
• Providing best in class analytics, you will transform high level requests into focussed and specific analysis
• Providing necessary management information and deep dive analysis to arrive at appropriate conclusions, presenting these outputs at appropriate forums
• You will be responsible for monthly business as usual reporting and control activity
• Working effectively with peers and management teams across the functions to achieve shared business objectives and to drive continuous improvement
• Presenting and communicating results to Senior Management and driving stakeholder discussions
• Contributing to business development activities, identifying new opportunities for enhancements and formulating into proposals

What we're looking for:
• Highly rational and logical thinker with excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Comprehensive understanding and effective use of analytical and office tools
• Ability to generate insights from data, assess the commercial / financial impact and recommend action
• Developed interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills with ability to translate insight into a coherent story

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Degree in Mathematics or related analytical discipline or experience
• Extensive experience of analysing programmes through the lens of Profit and Loss and other customer metrics, with knowledge of SQL and / or Python advantageous
• Familiarity with segmentation tools and strategies
• Industry knowledge (ideally experience with major international financial services firm)

Where will you be working?
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997.
We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
