The role
Support the Head of Sustainability in build-out and ongoing refinement of the ESG framework. Focus on data collection, ESG monitoring tools and reporting of metrics (internal as well as external).

Support the Head of Sustainability in build-out and ongoing refinement of the ESG framework. Focus on data collection, ESG monitoring tools and reporting of metrics (internal as well as external).
Key accountabilities
- Be responsible for collating, verifying, manipulating and presenting ESG-relevant data
- Data gathering and processing for all ESG topics: to support internal reporting as well as external reporting (via e.g., investor presentations or ESG reports)
- Data gathering and processing in support of industry-wide initiatives the company has subscribed to (e.g., Poseidon Principles, NZIA)
- Support reporting according to industry standards, e.g., TCFD
- Liaise with data vendors to stay up to date with market offerings and review company subscriptions on an ongoing basis
- Act as a bridge between business/underwriting requirements and the technical implementation of ESG tools (e.g., refining ESG tools over time into a more integrated platform)
- Support on daily ESG review of underwriting risks
- Support Head of Sustainability as required on other ESG-related tasks or initiatives (e.g., developing training materials), with scope to own certain projects if appropriate
Skills & experience
- Passion for data with strong skills in interpreting, cleaning, manipulating and visualising data
- Excel, Power BI and Powerpoint skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of (re)insurance, with prior experience in the industry (Lloyd's/London Market/specialty insurance/reinsurance experience strongly preferred)
- Demonstrable interest in ESG
Beneficial, but not essential:
- Familiarity with ESG issues and key initiatives such as NZIA/PSI, TCFD, EU Taxonomy (will be key to the role but not essential as a pre-requisite)
- Basic coding skills
- Knowledge of/experience in external reporting (e.g., Annual Reports, investor presentations, ESG reports)
