THE SEARCH:

Altus Partners has partnered with a growing Private Equity fund that is looking to bring on a Partner, COO to have oversight of all investment operations and strategy. The business is looking to double its AUM in the next 12 months from 1.5Bn - $3Bn and the COO will play a pivotal position in the development and growth of the business area.

THE ROLE:

The business is currently looking for a Partner, COO to join them and will assume responsibility for all operational control functions and to improve the efficiency and scalability of the business. In addition to supervising day-to-day operations and compliance, the COO will design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures to reduce operational risk and to secure the functionality of the business. The role will have oversight of an international team.

Core accountabilities:
  • Work with management and have oversight of implementing strategic goals for the investment operations and portfolio management functions through continuous performance
  • Management of the operations of the funds including:
    • Oversight of global legal and regulatory issues
    • Oversight of global financial and fund reporting and additional finance matters
    • Oversight of global compliance oversight
    • Oversight of post transaction investor communication.
  • Oversight and implementation of evaluating and analysing the fund business performance
  • Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures for fund management business
  • Oversight and lead of establishing new funds in required jurisdictions
  • Establish policies that promote the growing culture of the business in new investment strategies
  • Oversight stakeholder and vendor management globally


THE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proven track record as Chief Operating Officer or Operations Director or similar relevant role in an Investment Manager
  • Clear understanding of business functions such as portfolio management, investment operations, finance and regulations
  • Technical understanding of both public and private fund structures
  • Demonstrable competence in innovation, strategic planning, and business development
  • Technical understand of European Regulations
  • Strategic and analytical decision-maker
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Focus on organisation, team dynamics and productivity
  • An innovator, with a desire to change and improve
