The UK iShares & Wealth (iSW) team is responsible for the sale of BlackRock's range of Active, Alternative and Index funds and ETFs to the UK Asset and Wealth management market. The team is divided into five channels:

  • Banks and Online - Private Banks, Retail Banks and Online Distributors
  • Wealth - Private Client Investment Managers & Regional Wealth Managers
  • National Advisors and Platforms - National, Networks, Consolidators and platforms
  • Asset Managers - Multi asset and long only managers
  • Manager Research - Fund selection units across 30 UK focus accounts


Role description:

The candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and further strengthening of key UK Wealth relationships, through exceptional levels of client service & a thorough understanding of BlackRock's products and services.

The role requires an individual who is able to build strong external relationships both with BlackRock's Wealth clients and also to leverage an extensive number of internal stake holders in order to provide a superior client experience. The individual will be required to proactively contribute to high level strategy, through developing and executing initiatives targeting new business, in addition to proactively defending assets under threat. The individual will also be required to manage and grow their own book of business, contributing to the wider team's NNB and NNBF targets - these clients are typically desks within large wealth management firms which have scope to grow their business with BlackRock.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Trusted contact for day to day account management of UK Wealth Manager client relationships
  • Work with Primary RM and sales partners to generate revenue from Fund selection teams, model portfolios services and Senior desks at WMs
  • Build relationships with individual desks at WMs.
  • Understand and co-create sustainability solutions with clients
  • Develop the partnership between the UK Wealth team and its internal Business stakeholders to improve delivery of operational projects, improve the client service offering and quality of delivery.
  • Specific focus on designing and implementing a distribution plan for BlackRock's proprietary portfolio construction tool, Portfolio 360, with an emphasis on iShares
  • Broad understanding of EMEA regulatory landscape for distribution of, Index Funds, ETFs, Mutual Funds, Investment Trusts, alternatives and bespoke client solutions.
  • Attendance and input to high level strategy meetings.
  • Strong project management skills required to ensure client projects are carried out efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Direct support and contact with senior leadership at the largest Industry constituents.
  • Partner with internal product development teams to enhance BlackRock's product range in EMEA and ensure that existing products suit the investor landscape.


Skills and Qualifications
  • Good knowledge of the client landscape in the UK Retail marketplace
  • Good research and data management skills
  • Proven client service and relationship management skills
  • Student of the markets
  • Organised, self-motivated, flexible and inclusive team member
  • Firm understanding of the sales process, prospecting, objection handling, closing and long term relationship management.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • IMC or equivalent desirable. The successful candidate will be required to pass IMC if no current qualification.
