The Opportunity:
  • Newly created opportunity working within a very progressive, innovative and market leading Pension Fund Manager
  • As one of the largest private pension scheme managers in the UK, the complexity and variety of the asset classes managed are huge including public equities and fixed income, real assets, complex derivatives (LDI / smart beta) etc.
  • Following an internal restructuring of a number of front office / investment support business areas it has been decided to create a new function / department focused on Performance Reporting
  • Whilst the scheme is one of the largest in the UK, the London office is boutique and employs around 80 staff who work very closely together, thereby offering all staff the opportunity to interact closely with stakeholders at all levels of seniority and across all areas of investment and support
  • Within this role you will contribute to ensuring that the wider team acts as a centre of excellence for delivering high quality performance analytics, insight and reporting for use across the entire business and beneficiaries
  • You will support the Investment Services Performance Reporting Senior Manager in embedding this new dedicated performance and reporting function
  • Proactively contribute to operating model projects and system/process development, and help to shape the future of the broader Investment Services function
  • Ensure the provision of accurate, and timely performance analytics and reporting for my client through the delivery of high quality, insightful performance analysis and commentaries across various data sets
  • Assist with data quality, whilst ensuring accurate and timely production of performance attribution reports for key stakeholders and clients
  • Conduct performance deep dives to identify performance drivers through risk and style factors analysis
  • Integrate ESG and Climate risk considerations into Performance and Risk attribution analysis
  • Provide accurate and timely responses to portfolio analysis queries / attribution requests
  • Build strong working relations with Investment Teams and key stakeholders
  • Support the continuous assessment and refinement of the Scheme's performance and reporting framework


Your Experience:
  • Significant experience gained in a performance analysis role within Financial Services/Professional Services sector (pension, insurance, asset manager, bank)
  • Proven experience in multi-asset performance attribution & analysis
  • Excellent knowledge of investment performance measurement and analysis techniques coupled with industry standards
  • Experience using performance systems such as UBS Delta, Factset, StatPro, Ortec (PEARL) etc
  • Strong working knowledge of derivatives instruments in an ALM context
  • Experience or involvement in implementing a performance system - desirable
  • High degree of numeracy
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Knowledge of Power BI / Python - desirable
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to present detailed analysis in a clear and concise manner to a various stakeholders
  • Highly organised, with a positive attitude towards change
  • Resilient, self-motivated and willingness to help others

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
