SVB is looking for an experienced Product (or Senior Product Manager) to support the EMEA Product Director in their responsibility for lending products delivered by SVB's EMEA loan booking locations. Out financing solutions include Venture Debt, structured term loans and lines of credit enabling business growth, buyout financing, and Global Funds Banking.
The role reports to the Lending Product Director, EMEA. The team works closely with and stays closely aligned to the Global Credit Product Management team in the United States.

The role is a key part of SVB's growth strategy and broadening of the EMEA Product Management function (which is relatively new to SVB EMEA), and the candidate will be expected to have an appetite to bring their experience to shape and influence good, efficient Product Governance.

The role holder will be responsible for accelerating the next phase of EMEA's growth of lending products, to ensure that we support our clients with the products needed to increase our clients' probability of success. This will involve working cross-functionally with SVB's internal teams as well as key external partners to continually deliver performing products or innovate and deliver market-ready solutions aligned to client needs.

We are looking for an experienced Product or Senior Product Manager with transferable or translatable knowledge from working predominantly in banks or relevant FinTech companies, and with versatility to span a range of products and client segments.

This is a growing bank, and the Product portfolio will continue to rapidly evolve and expand. Activities will range from new product development to day-to-day management of existing products. Candidates should be tech savvy, self-starters, driven by an appetite for knowledge, detail and data, and have a passion for change.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of existing product set, including maintaining a list of products actively offered to EMEA clients, completing appropriate governance activities (i.e. risk & control self-assessments, annual product reviews) and reviewing the portfolio of debt products in EMEA so to harmonize and standardize documentation
  • Responsible for the management of pilot / test & learn products and for reporting on and forecasting their performance, through to leading the initial 12-month review and then to recommending whether the product will be incorporated in to the BAU product portfolio
  • Understand the end-to-end value chain that supports delivery of lending products in EMEA and maintain stakeholder relationships with key teams / system owners to ensure optimum customer journeys
  • Monitor and evaluate competitive landscape and external environment, to provide insights to strategy or new product development to defend
  • Work closely with Global Credit Product Management team in the US (including Product Pods), to collaborate on global activities, stay close to US developments, or to capture and feed through EMEA-specific product requirements
  • Manage new feature / new product / new platform developments / introductions, and collaborate with Solutions & Design (or development teams) to support implementation of new initiatives to launch
  • Support and provide inputs to the lending product strategy and roadmap
  • Improving product-level MI/BI, to identity trends and to recommend actions
  • Ensuring critical KPI's are met, with corrective action plans where necessary
  • Write product document content to produce sales/marketing collateral


SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Be currently operating at a Product Manager or early-stage Senior Product Manager equivalent level
  • Essential to have experience in managing credit / lending products within prior role(s), and broad product management experience across the product life cycle including New Product Approvals, Product launch and Rollout, Product Change Process, margin management, pricing reviews, Product Reviews
  • Writing, or providing key inputs into, business cases and business requirements
  • Writing of marketing/sales collateral
  • SME support to Operations and Sales colleagues
  • An ability to work independently in completing assigned duties
  • Problem solver, with hands on and can-do attitude
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education an advantage
  • Ideally have knowledge and experience of Agile principles or working with Agile projects
