European Investment Bank is currently hiring for a Technical Accounting Specialist to join their London team. This role has been created through an internal move and sits in the Group Accounting Policy Financial Instruments team cover all business lines and regions.

This is ideally opportunity for a proven technical accounting looking for more autonomy and ownership in their next role. The role will involve regular interaction with key stakeholders including regional heads of business and it is therefore essential that you have strong interpersonal skills. The company offers a realistic progression path to a Director role in the future and a good flexible working culture.
Responsibilities:
- Key point of contact for preparing accounting analysis for complex and structured transactions
- Oversight and review of accounting analysis prepared by local accounting policy teams
- Monitor developments within specific areas of specialism to ensure the policy manuals and correctly updated and new developments are communicated to key stakeholders during quarterly IFRS updates
- Prepare content and presenting new accounting policies or interpretation to the Accounting Policy Committee for formal validation under the group accounting policy governance
- Agreeing accounting positions with central auditors technical accounting teams
- Preparing content and presenting targeted training on IFRS to wider stakeholders across the business.
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA)
- Proven experience in an Accounting Policy/Technical Accounting role within another Investment Bank
- Strong knowledge of IFRS9 regulations and accounting policies related to Financial Instruments
- Big 4 Background - highly preferred
- Strong presentation Skills
- Excellent academic background
