Join Macquarie's Electronic Trading Operational Risk team covering the e-trading businesses across Commodities and Global Markets, including the 2022 Energy Risk Awards Natural Gas/LNG, Oil and Products, and Derivatives trading Houses of the Year out of our London office. This is a front-office, business-unit team responsible for risk management and solving strategic and real-time problems related to electronic/systematic/algorithmic trading.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of group-wide and divisional policies, procedures, controls, and risk frameworks addressing the risks associated with electronic trading globally. Additionally, you will be called upon to provide electronic trading expertise and risk oversight for:
  • New business developments/deployments
  • Algorithmic trading development and change management
  • Strategy and implementation of new sources of liquidity
  • Electronic execution risk control design and function
  • Regulatory inquiries and responses to internal audit

Your experience with the global regulatory framework for electronic and algorithmic trading (MiFID II RTS-6, FCA and PRA algorithmic trading guidance, etc.) will be crucial to your success. You should have 3+ years' experience with trading, technology, compliance or risk management of electronic trading systems and trading algorithms used in execution of Commodities, FX, Futures, and/or Equities.

Working knowledge of trading workflows, market micro-structure, and an understanding of automated trading strategies and expected behaviours/outcomes will be helpful. An ability to effectively navigate across a diverse set of stakeholders at all levels including COOs, traders, client coverage, quantitative strategists, technology, compliance, operational risk, and audit is required. A mix of technical and communication skills with deadline-driven project delivery would help ensure success of a future candidate.

You will get extensive experience and exposure within an investment banking electronic trading environment in one or more of the following asset classes (equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, and commodities).

As mentioned, you will need to bring strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to build relationships at all levels will be essential to your success, as will be your ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

If you have a passion for electronic and algorithmic trading and are an enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach and desire to succeed, we want to hear from you!
