This leading Alternative Investment Manager are looking for a Portfolio Valuations Manager to join their London team. The company are market leaders in illiquid credit with a strong track record of providing risk adjusted returns to their clients.

Whilst operating indepently, they are part of a much larger group, giving the advantage of a nimble boutique coupled with the security of a large global investment management firm.

This role is analytical and highly data driven, working very closely with the Investment Team and senior managers on a daily basis.

Duties:

  • Prepare valuation memos for investments on a quarterly basis
  • Prepare and maintain valuation models and corresponding documentation for all key valuation inputs
  • Liaise with Front Office Analysts and Asset Management teams to understand deal updates and ensure those updates are reflected in the memos and models
  • Assist in the development and rollout of various technology projects to assist in maximizing the efficiency and independence of the valuation process
  • Coordinate with third party valuation firms to provide support for independent review of certain manager-marked positions
  • Various other ad-hoc analytics and deliverables related to valuation, as needed
  • Preparation of reporting packages for upper management, Front Office, Marketing and Accounting/Tax departments, including materials for board presentations


Requirements

  • Very strong academic record
  • Experience working within an external valuation firm, the valuations arm of a deal advisory / consulting firm, Corporate Finance or valuation focused role within a hedge fund / family office focussing on illiquid credit
  • Advanced excel skills (VBA / basic programming preferred)
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Knoweldge of NPL's would be beneficial
  • Ambitious, hungry to learn, able to take decisions and demonstrate conviction of thought, as well as be proactive and collaborative
