Who we're looking for
We're looking for an intellectually curious, experienced self-starter who can produce content in a variety of formats for the fixed income asset class. You will have strong, proven writing skills and will also be happy owning and executing an innovative digital content strategy.

About Schroders
As a global investment manager, we help institutions, intermediaries and individuals across the planet meet their goals, fulfil their ambitions, and prepare for the future. But as the world changes, so do our clients' needs. That's why we have a long history of adapting to suit the times and keeping our focus on what matters most to our clients.

Doing this takes experience and expertise. We bring together people and data to spot the trends that will shape the future. This provides a unique perspective which allows us to always invest with conviction. We are responsible for £525.8 billion* of assets for our clients who trust us to deliver sustainable returns. We remain determined to build future prosperity for them, and for all of society.
Today, we have 4,600 people across six continents who focus on doing just this.

We are a global business that's managed locally. This allows us to always keep our clients' needs at the heart of everything we do. For over two centuries and more than seven generations we've grown and developed our expertise in tandem with our clients' needs and interests. Explore our interactive timeline to see how we've been shaping financial futures since our very beginnings.
We have around 5,000 people on six continents. And we've been around for over 200 years, but keep adapting as society and technology changes. What doesn't change is our commitment to helping our clients, and society, prosper.

The base
We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We're close to our clients, in the heart of the UK's financial centre. And we have everything we need to work flexibly.

The team
The role is within the Global Content Team - a team of content creators and researchers focused on producing market-leading content. Our content seeks to share the views and insights of Schroders' experts with clients, press, and anyone with an interest in markets or economics.

We produce both broad and bespoke content for the whole range of our client audiences, whether they are institutional investors, financial advisers or end investors.

Our content is featured across Schroders' externally-facing websites and social media accounts, as well as numerous partners' sites, from newspapers to adviser networks.

The team is a central global resource, providing content for teams all around the world for use in their local markets.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Content, this role is critical to this team achieving its wide ranging objectives

What you'll do
• Develop and coordinate the strategy for editorial content in fixed income
• Research, write and edit investment content for a wide range of digital marketing materials. This will involve writing appropriately for a range of different audiences - from institutional to retail investors (private investors, intermediaries, asset managers) as well as the financial press
• Produce and repurpose content in engaging, digestible formats such as videos, podcasts and visual representations of data
• Develop an awareness of how bitesize content can be used on social and mobile and build this into the editorial strategy
• Liaise with teams across Marketing to align to business objectives and ensure that content delivered is commercially strategic
• Champion content analytics - ensuring performance data is considered as part of the idea generation process
• Use content performance data as an engagement tool - encouraging stakeholders across the business to participate in marketing activities
• Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues in Investment, Product and Distribution in order to understand client requirements
• The role will sometimes include writing investment commentary - providing updates for clients, prospects and press on fund performance, positioning, strategy and outlook. The role holder will need to tailor communications on funds in the context of the wider firm objectives in a way that best supports growth and retention of business
• Support and encourage communication from others - direct team members, fund managers and investment directors, for example. This will involve a dynamic approach, particularly when sourcing a timely comment on a market event
• Each Investment Specialist in the team will command a high level of knowledge of markets and our funds in their own area, in addition to keeping up with other markets and economic and business developments around the world. Knowledge of fixed income in particular would be advantageous
• The job holder has a responsibility to pay due regard to the interests of our customers and treat them fairly, ensuring that the information provided to clients on products and services is clear and useful and enables them to understand fully what they are being offered. They are required to familiarise themselves fully with the team's current procedures, FCA compliance requirements, and the principles behind 'Treating Customers Fairly'.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
• Excellent writing skills
• A good knowledge of major asset classes and their fundamental drivers
• Experience producing investment reports or commentary
• Digitally savvy, with an understanding of different content formats and distribution methods
• Ability to take complex concepts and explain them in an easy to understand way
• Experience drafting written reports or commentary
• Intellectual curiosity and proactive nature
• Ability to work as part of a small team
• The ability to engage and influence stakeholders
• Experienced and highly proficient with Excel

• Highly curious and self-motivated
• A critical thinker who's able to look at things from different angles
• Strong technical knowledge on macroeconomic and financial market trends
• Comfortable expressing a point of view
• Proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills and able to establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships
