International bank with worldwide offices but a stronghold in Asia and London. The role of Loan Closer Associate will be based in their City of London location.
Description
The Loan Closing Associate role will sit with the Business Analysis Team (BAT) in the City of London Office. The team look after leveraged finance, and have 7 funds currently with each being worth £300 million. 2.1 billion Euros AUM and 4 billion on the Balance sheet.
The role will support front office to grow a portfolio of leveraged loans in London and would be responsible for working with front office, headquarters and overseas as well as other key stakeholders to book, confirm, and settle trades of European leveraged loans, as well write reports, P&L, cash management and reconciliation.
Main Responsibilities:
* Managing the loan closing, manage operational risk and ensure all internal processes are accurately followed
* Booking, confirming and settling par loan trades for leveraged loan investments
* Reviewing and understanding documentation, e.g. Trade Confirmations, Transfer Certificates and Pricing Letters
* Coordinating with trade counterparties to ensure timely settlement of trades
* Reviewing loan/credit documentation
* Managing funding through SPVs in order to settle trades
* Conducting KYC on and with our trade counterparties
* Reviewing Anti Money Laundering checks on our borrowers
* Management of deal covenants and reporting due dates as well as the Waiver and Amendment process for existing deals.
* Ongoing management of existing loan portfolio
* Work with Front Office and internal legal to review, negotiate and execute LMA NDAs
* Preparation and distribution of internal documents/reports
* Identifying and escalating issues to the Front Office, internal legal and management when necessary
* Work with Front Office on any new business opportunities
Profile
Skills and Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3 years Loan Closing experience, or similar
* Excellent understanding of the leveraged loans settlements process
* Ability to review and understand Credit Agreements
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work to ensure transaction deadlines are achieved
* CLO knowledge is preferable
* Proficiency in MS Office suite, in particular Excel and Word
* Strong sense of accountability with a commitment to achieving individual and team goals
* Keen to question, challenge and improve, particularly around internal processes
* Strong communication skills to deal with both internal and external clients, including front office trading staff & legal
