For the position of Fraud Specialist, we are looking for someone who marries a keen attention to detail and a proven track record of examining secure identity documents from all over the world. We need someone with intimate knowledge of passports, national identity cards and driving licences. Team OPTIC represents the highest level of document examination expertise and fraud investigation within Onfido, sharing knowledge and advice with other teams. In this role, you will:

- Review and assess images of identity documents for authenticity from a single white light image.
- A udit other people's fraud assessments as the final decision on document queries.
- P rovide accurate information and insight on identity documents, either directly to other teams or by maintaining and improving our internal sources of document information.
- S upport the team with Business As Usual tasks and any projects, as required

Requirements:

• A good working knowledge of document security features
• Proven experience in identity document examination (live or from scans)
• Responds well to feedback, and able to learn instructions quickly
• Self-motivated and diligent
• Good communication skills, effective report writing (in English)
• Must be open to learning new investigative techniques

Nice to have:

• Background or interest in analytics
• Experience of working with technology teams
• Familiarity with spreadsheet programs
• Ability to create and deliver training content
• Public speaking

For this role, you can work in any EU country where we have a legal entity. We have a hybrid model, and you can choose to work fully remote, or come to our offices! We let all of our employees choose what's best for them.
