Senior Vice President - Markets Anti-Money Laundering Executive
The Markets business compromises of FX, Securities Finance, Liquidity Services and Fixed Income servicing clients across UK, Middle East and Europe.
Responsible for Know-Your-Customer (KYC) Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Banking Secrecy (BSA) and Business Sanctions across the Markets line of business globally.
The role will be responsible for managing a small team supporting both 'business as usual' tasks and project work relating to the ongoing efforts across the firm to uplift KYC CDD, BSA and AML processes, policies and procedures. Strong and proactive engagement with the broader AML/KYC teams across the bank and the Markets client relationship managers will be important.
The role will functionally report into the head of business management/COO of Markets and will have 1st Line of Defence accountability for the management of KYC CDD, AML, BSA and Sanctions risk across Markets.
Principal duties and responsibilities
  • Oversight and support of all Markets responsibilities relating to KYC, CDD, AML, BSA and Sanctions.
  • Providing Markets management with clear and concise reporting and updates.
  • Ensures Markets specific AML/CDD systems, procedures and standards are in line with Bank AML/CDD Policy, including local requirements.
  • Ensures CDD Program changes are implemented within Markets in a timely manner and appropriately communicated to Markets stakeholders.
  • Ensures adequate CDD Program staffing, with the appropriate skill sets, to successfully implement CDD Program objectives and requirements and carry forward into BAU communicating any critical resourcing requirements to the Markets head of Business Management as required.
  • Plans and coordinates uplift activities across Markets lines of business and regions - ensures uplift goals and timelines are successful.
  • Monitors Markets CDD risk exposure and tolerances across the customer portfolio.
  • Represents Markets in AML/CDD committees as appropriate.
  • Coordinates with Compliance to address certain high-risk customer escalations or exceptions (e.g., prohibited customers/countries).
  • Coordinates with Compliance to address policy interpretations and clarifications - responsible for communication of guidance back to Markets stakeholders.
  • Responsible for implementing appropriate controls and management practices for processes and systems that comply with the Company's policies.
  • Management of a team responsible for Markets AML, Anti Tax Evasion and Anti Corruption Risk Assessments, data lineage and risk coverage mapping cards in coordination with Compliance
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of Markets CDD Program communication and reporting processes:
  • Ensures that the Markets business has adequate AML/CDD training including i dentification and enrolment of all staff required to take training (including temporary, contractor or vendor employees) ensuring that training is completed in a timely manner.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including report writing and management pack presentation production.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working on KYC CDD and AML within an Investment Banking setting.
  • Proven track record of reporting to executive level stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise and structured output.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change, self- motivated and able to independently drive results.
  • Ability to initiate, define, lead and prioritise to remain focussed on the end target.
  • Proactively identifies roadblocks or unprecedented, complex problems, develops solutions and follows through to implementation.
  • Strong organisational skills.
