About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Independent Testing Specialist.

In this role, you will:
  • Participate in engagements in a matrixed environment as an individual contributor executing/leading review activities of moderate to high complexity.
  • Possess functional knowledge in procedures, risks, controls, compliance, testing, data analysis, assessment of findings, escalation and reporting, while developing risk acumen.
  • Gain knowledge of engagement review's subject matter (i.e. LOB, Enterprise Function, risk program, etc.), including risk profile.
  • Assess adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, and control environment whilst understanding market/ business/ regulatory changes to determine impact to engagement's plan and scope.
  • Complete/lead assigned testing activities exercising effective quality review behaviors and seeks guidance for areas of ambiguity and/or uncertainty.
  • Perform quality reviews of junior testers' work, as applicable and assigned by supervisor.
  • Escalate potential findings to engagement management, identify potential corrective and remediation actions and follows through on reporting and resolution per procedural guidance.
  • Collaborate internally with appropriate business partners and other IT&V team members in support of engagement's overall review activities in addition to the individual areas of responsibility.
  • Build constructive and effective relationships, exercising effective communication behaviors, and hold yourself accountable for delivering on commitments and renegotiates when needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of Independent Testing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Proven controls testing or other related experience within an internal audit or other relevant testing function at global financial institutions
  • Good knowledge of front to back activities and key processes pertaining to Corporate and Investment Banking, Commercial Banking and/or Enterprise Functions
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organization skills, prioritization, and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, self-starter and highly motivated to work in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines despite competing priorities
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
  • A relevant professional certification will be an added advantage
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Job Expectations:
  • Conduct/lead planning and scoping meetings with business stakeholders, partners, SMEs, etc. and draft related memos.
  • Review RCSA risk assessment and other planning information e.g. compliance requirements to identify risks and controls, including shared controls and assist determining engagement scope.
  • Review prior testing and findings completed by IT&V, Internal Audit or regulators to assess impact to engagement's plan and scope.
  • Conduct/lead process walkthroughs and document narratives including key risks, controls, systems and stakeholders.
  • Perform/lead control design effectiveness assessment documenting results.
  • Develop/update test scripts and determine sampling population and methodology for engagement management approval.
  • Execute owned assigned review activities and perform quality reviews of work executed by junior testers as applicable and assigned.
  • Assess findings and escalate/communicate for disposition to engagement management, business, partners and SMEs as applicable, and document per procedural guidance for engagement management approval.
  • Execute individual areas of responsibility according to established schedule timelines and raise delays to engagement management.
  • Facilitate milestone and tollgate meetings throughout review lifecycle.
  • Participate/lead remediation action plans challenge activities ensuring appropriate to effectively address findings.
  • Prepare draft report for assigned areas of responsibility following through on approvals per procedural guidance, and finalizing/distributing report along with ensuring proper retention.
  • Prepare engagement-level reporting and review, obtain required approvals, and distribute to appropriate recipients and stakeholders per procedural guidance for engagement management review.
  • Facilitate the completion and retention of engagement activities documentation and approvals obtained throughout the review lifecycle per procedural guidance.
  • Submit timely, accurate, and complete time entries for assigned testing engagements per established requirements.
  • Track and review established role utilization metrics and ensure adherence to targets.
  • Successfully complete all training and compliance requirements adhering to established due dates and identify opportunities for professional development.
  • Identify and timely escalate at-risk engagements/issues/validations per established timelines and review with IT&V leadership for assessment and development of appropriate course of action.
  • Drive work quality standards and ensure that established Quality Assurance (QA) metrics are tracked and reviewed with IT&V leadership for adherence with targets and assessment for potential operational enhancement.
