As a Barclays Tax Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with a variety of Tax Authority Regulations, primarily ensuring the submission of tax returns and the payment of tax deposits in a timely accurate manner. This is an exciting and fantastic opportunity to join a fast moving team to deliver regulatory objectives whilst also delivering a first class service to stakeholders and customers alike.
Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, with 329 years of success, quality and innovation behind us. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity - helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive, and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted
This opportunity is open to flexible working arrangements. If you have a need for flexibility, please apply and discuss this with us during the hiring process.
We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.
What will you be doing?
• Undertaking a range of complex and demanding technical processes often working to stringent regulatory deadlines
• Analysing large sets of trade data, monthly/annual tax reporting and daily monetary reconciliations.
• Overseeing controls and adhere to the appropriate regulations of the specific tax jurisdiction (primarily US)
• Working alongside the wider business operations and key stakeholders (Investment Bank, Corporate Bank, Markets, Treasury and Private Bank) both in the UK and internationally
• Recording, journaling and reconciling monies received
• Reviewing key data in report format for the regulators and highlight any concerns / issues as they arise.
What we're looking for:
• Proven experience in undertaking stakeholder engagement - via verbal or written correspondence
• Adaptability to process/regulatory changes
• Ability to prioritise workloads due to concurrent deadlines
• Knowledge of front to back equity processing, particularly in a multi entity environment
Skills that will help you in the role:
• An appreciation of time criticality and risks arising with Operational Tax processes with an ability to clearly articulate these to Management
• Experience of project work
Where will you be working?
