You will manage the daily operations related to investment management by ensuring the portfolio system is an accurate source of securities holding and valuation information, that trade execution flows smoothly from deal creation through to settlement and is then accurately reflected in the various systems and with third parties (e.g. portfolio system, custodians and fund administrators).

With a heavy system and data focus, the role requires an eye for detail and the ability to identify continuous process improvements which would minimise data errors and operational risk.

Additionally, this is an ideal role for someone who is technically capable with the ability to work on system development projects to enhance operations.

Key skills
  • 5 years+ experience in a similar fund investment operations role.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to multi-task, organise and prioritise work streams.
  • Self-starter, willing to take responsibility and use initiative.
  • Confidence in following up with third parties.
  • Willingness to train up/act as mentor to junior team members.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work well in a small team and take ownership of tasks in hand.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide overall support for the Investment Management team and oversee juniors to ensure work streams completed accurately and on time.
  • Trade dealing and settlement of funds, direct equities and bonds - monitoring the trade execution allocations to brokers and follow up.
  • Monitor and execute daily FX and cash management.
  • Reconciliation management - ability to deal with investment back office third parties such as custodians and settlements.
  • Managing account opening process.
  • Best execution monitoring and recording.
  • Checking and providing performance measurement.
  • Portfolio valuation and client reporting.
  • Perform month and quarterly reporting tasks.
  • Ad hoc projects to focus on improvements to processes.
