Georgina Warwick, Head of Competence and Oversight
About the Role
As a Paraplanning Technical Consultant you will design and facilitate the training and coaching of Paraplanning teams, in order for them to be part of our first line of defence as well as to provide in-depth reports and analysis to Advisers to enable them to present recommendations to clients.
You will work with the Paraplanning Managers and the Regional Directors in assessing the technical skills of the team and the quality of the output, as well as identifying and helping to resolve issues that impact on the firm's ability to deliver high quality service and advice.
You'll build and maintain strong relationships with our Financial Planning and Paraplanning teams, and will work to identify and overcome training and coaching needs within Paraplanning teams, proactively equipping the Paraplanning teams with the skills so that they can work with information provided by the Adviser to meet the clients' financial planning needs. This will involve a variety of face to face or remote training and discussions in one to one or group environments.
You will become the subject matter expert, whom the Paraplanning team can rely on to navigate complex queries and will be confident in presenting your MI/BI reports with accuracy and context. You may be involved in project work on occasion with teams from the wider Quilter family.
You'll keep your own FCA, Quilter Financial Planning and Treating Customers Fairly knowledge up to date through training sought externally or provided internally and will ensure that all teams are providing Paraplanning services to Financial Advisers within FCA regulations across all regions.
You'll have strong technical knowledge and understanding of the end-to-end Client Journey, to better educate Paraplanners on the significance of their work. You'll also support and develop deep understanding of financial plan production, including cashflow analysis.
We'd like you to constantly ensure that customers are being treated fairly by you, the business and the Paraplanning teams you work with, and to highlight any situations where you believe this is not the case. Together with our paraplanners, you'll act as a critical partner to our Financial Planners, providing deep and meaningful scrutiny over client Financial Plans.
About You
You'll have a broad range of technical knowledge, with some exposure to or experience of designing and delivering training or coaching. To be successful in this role you'll need the ability to flex your style of communication to suit different audiences.
You'll be able to solve complex problems, offering a solution-focused attitude and will have excellent report writing and presentation skills.
You'll need an in-depth knowledge of the products and services that QPCA offer to meet the needs of our clients. It would be great if you had knowledge of systems and process that support our business, for example Defaqto, FE Analytics, Cashflow systems, and wrap platforms.
Experience of working within a financial planning firm, or advice business is essential. You'll also need to be level 4 qualified in financial advice, ideally you'll be level 6 or working towards chartered status.
