We have been mandated on an exclusive basis by an international bank who is looking to hire a loan portfolio manager (associate director level) for their London-based real estate finance team.

The firm has a loan book in excess of a couple of £billion with a bias (but not exclusively) to the UK market. Their focus is on commercial real estate investment loans circa £/€20m to £/€200m in size.

The role involves the ongoing monitoring and management of a large loan book and will include a lot of borrower interaction, so strong relationship management skills are important.

The role will suit someone with 10 years' + real estate finance experience working for a bank, alternate lender or loan asset manager / special servicer. This could be in a portfolio management, credit risk management or relationship management capacity.

Salary is very much dependent on experience, up to an absolute maximum of £100k. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to earn a discretionary, performance-related bonus + an attractive benefits package.

Our client offers a hybrid working model. Company policy is strictly 3 days in the office / 2 days at home.

Responsibilities:
  • Implementation of the Bank's Credit Risk Policy and management of client relationship for a portfolio of facilities.
  • Ongoing management of an existing allocated portfolio of credit facilities, partially structured transactions and sole responsibility within given credit authorities.
  • Ongoing risk monitoring and risk management applying the Bank's analysis and steering tools, including monitoring of early warning issues.
  • Participation in client meetings as the Bank's main / secondary point of contact dependant on deal.
  • Annual Reviews / Loan Applications / Waivers of Credit Facilities, including development of sustainable facility specific strategies according to the Bank's overall policies.
  • Monitoring of Market Developments and Trends, analysis of impact on the Bank's facilities, development and implementation of facility-specific measures in critical facilities.
  • Continuous updating of the Bank's monitoring systems
  • Contribution in credit related projects as required
