The Role: Software Solutions - Business Analyst

The Team: S&P Global Market Intelligence Software Solutions provides proven software solutions and analytics to help the financial industry uncover insights, increase efficiency, reduce and manage risk, and maintain compliance. We are a leader in the financial technology space and our solutions power credit research, investment analysis, loan trade settlement, portfolio management, reporting and compliance.

The Impact: Within the Software Solutions division, the Business Analyst works within the Product development team and is responsible for defining requirements for feature enhancements, roadmap prioritization, and support of new and existing customers.

What's in it for you: The ideal candidate possesses a strong interest in problem solving, analysis of data & processes, and defining & improving product design. An ability to communicate effectively across different teams within the organization as well as with customers, stakeholders and senior organization representatives is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Understanding & defining feature requirements as the inputs for product enhancements
  • Onboarding of new clients including customer interaction with business and technical teams
  • Working within the Product development team to achieve shared goals and deliverables
  • Interact with internal & external stakeholders displaying a firm grasp on product functionality
  • Collaborate with business team peers, Development and QA teams to design additional feature enhancements
  • Cross organization collaboration with Customer Support teams to transition product knowledge and understanding - work with customers where needed to answer complex problems
What We're Looking For:
  • A bachelor degree (or equivalent) completed 2022
  • 0-6 months relevant work experience in a Product focused role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • An aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment
  • The ability to build strong working relationships in a collaborative setting
  • This role is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States
For Business Analyst applicants, we recommend the following:
  • Understanding of an agile SDLC
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Understanding & desire to learn and utilize structured query language (SQL) to solve complex business problems
  • Excellent writing skills-must be clear and concise
  • Ability to convey complex subject matter clearly and engagingly
  • Desire to learn inner technical workings of business applications
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload to deliver quality results on time
  • Ability to quickly absorb and put into practice new information, instructions, or procedures, while seamlessly performing current job tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills-must work harmoniously with analysts, developers and others across regions and time zones
