TEKsystems are working in partnership with a prestigious client, who are recruiting for a Jira Manager to come and join the UK's 2nd largest logistics businesses based in Leeds City Centre (option to work remote).

As a result of this, we're currently looking for a Jira Manager to join our Engineering & Assurance team on this exciting journey.

Our head office is based in Morley on the outskirts of Leeds, however as part of our continued growth in the IT industry, we recently opened a brand new Tech Hub based in the riverside area of Leeds City Centre overlooking the city skyline and River Aire.

With its own innovation lab, our brand new Tech hub showcases bespoke content on a rotating screen as well as displaying the latest prototypes such as a drone, a VR headset and a smart lock. If you get the chance to visit, the tech Hub offers it's employees the use of our large ultra-wide monitors to deliver the very best ultra-creative environment.

The Tech Hub also includes a private roof terrace overlooking the canal, as well as space to host external events, workshops and hackathons.

We are looking for a self-starter with experience of governing and managing Jira as a platform at scale. You will need the confidence to lead the evolution of our Jira workflows, issue status, reporting and dashboarding from the front, taking ownership for the platform and acting as the agent for improvement.

In this role you will carry out some or all of the following activities:

• Design, develop and implement Jira workflows, issue sets, build custom applications/integrations and develop mechanisms to automate manual processes

• Act as the Jira/Confluence SME in strategic discussions relating to greater adoption of the Atlassian toolset and any other Agile planning products

• Provide business analysis and decision making on Jira workflow and reporting improvements

• Advise on Agile working practices at scale (SAFe) and their adoption in Jira workflows and reporting

• Develop, maintain and implement a vision for our Atlassian tooling that remains in line with our Engineering transformation vision

• Manage and maintain the Atlassian permissions structure within Jira/Confluence in line with security policies

• Act as the "Product Owner" for our Atlassian tooling

• Ensure data integrity within our Jira projects is maintained so that reporting and dashboards remain stable and present reliable information

• Support and implement the implementation of our Agile Road Map tooling

• Work with Engineering and Product Owner leads to maintain and improve a consistent adoption of the Jira process

• Provide ad hoc support for the Atlassian toolset and resolve issues

You will be accountable for:

• Overall administration and product ownership of our Atlassian toolset

• Developing, Testing and Implementing all Jira workflow, reporting and dashboard enhancements

• Support portfolio road map reporting

• Support Engineering KPI reporting

• Govern the Engineering wiki space structure

• Govern the Atlassian permissions structure and user base

• Resolve ad hoc issues relating to our Atlassian toolset

• Chairing the Jira steering committee

Technical & People Skills:

• Advanced Jira/Confluence Administration and management

• Advanced understanding if Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe etc)

• Working knowledge of software development practices (BDD, TDD, version control, release management CI/CD)

• Working knowledge of software assurance practices

• Excellent communication skills (oral/written)

• Collaborative and keen to share knowledge with others

• Desire to take ownership and lead from the front

Knowledge & Experience :

• 5+ years managing an enterprise scale Jira platform

• Experience of designing and configuring Jira workflows in line with Agile software development practices

• Experience of building Jira dashboards and reports

• Experience customizing Jira projects, boards, screen schemes, notifications and permission structures

• Broad experience of working with scaled software development teams that have adopted agile working practices

• Knowledge of the Jira API for integration with external platforms (such as Jenkins, ServiceNow etc)

• Experience with Java/Html to support custom integrations would be a desirable but not essential

• Experience of analysing Jira data in relation to software development projects and producing reports

• Broad knowledge of Jira/Confluence plugins and their use cases

• Experience of structuring and maintaining a broad engineering wiki structure

• Excellent stakeholder management and oral/written communication skills
