Enhance your Accounting experience in a diverse and highly successful organization. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join our Accounting and Policy Advisory Group as a Senior Manager.

In this highly challenging and varied role, you will partner with all Macquarie business units to provide advice on the correct IFRS accounting treatment for a wide range of complex and unique transactions and across various projects.

You will be part of the EMEA and Americas regions' APAG team, supporting Macquarie's finance teams in-region and ensuring IFRS compliance as well as local GAAP compliance as required (including US GAAP).

Your specific focus will be advising on appropriate accounting treatments for proposed transactions, as well as devising and maintaining accounting guidance and frameworks to support technical conclusions.

You will be a go-to person for your area of expertise and be charged with promotion of that specialism, including proactively communicating insight from accounting developments. You will clearly communicate complex topics and issues to non-specialists and be able to interpret and practically apply accounting standards. In addition, you will champion one of the team's strategic initiatives such as training, communication, and stakeholder engagement.

Based in London, you will be part of the team responsible for building relationships with key industry groups, peer banks and relevant accounting standard setting organisations. Through these relationships, including participative involvement in relevant forums, you will share and communicate insight to relevant stakeholder groups.

Further, you will devise training strategies and present on new and existing accounting standards in both informal workshops and formal presentations bringing to life accounting principles in Macquarie's commercial context and relevant for the region. You will strategically partner with your stakeholders, pro-actively engaging on stakeholder areas of focus, being across underlying business developments and collaboratively advising on complex transactions.

Key to your success in this role will be your intellectual curiosity and ability to grasp complex concepts quickly coupled with your technical accounting and IFRS standards experience.You will clearly communicate complex topics and issues to non-specialists and be able to interpret and practically apply accounting standards in their commercial context. You will have ownership over your work and be supported by various senior members of the team who will equip you to evolve your accounting technical skills into a broader, well-balanced advisory skillset. You will be responsible for the development of the team and the broader finance team through training and advising on transactions.

You will be a Chartered Accountant with accounting experience either within a Big 4 Chartered Accountancy firm or in an Accounting Policy team.
