About Global Product Group

The Global Product Group (GPG) brings innovation, discipline, and focus to BlackRock's investment product line by aligning client and investment teams in the design and execution of product-related initiatives. The group performs a wide range of functions, including: industry, competitor and fund range analysis, design of platform strategy and management of product lifecycle, execution of fund launches and changes, and delivery of robust product governance and key regulatory projects. GPG designs, launches, and repositions >200 products annually. BlackRock's product platform spans from index to active to alternatives and includes a wide variety of investment strategies, asset classes and wrappers. Given the complex nature of our offering, the EMEA Pricing team play a critical role in establishing long-term pricing strategies, with a focus on EMEA-domiciled funds.

Key Responsibilities

Increasing pricing pressure and industry focus on value directs the need to articulate and drive an optimized pricing strategy across client segments, asset classes, wrappers and solutions The Head of EMEA Pricing Strategy will play a lead role in designing and executing the firm's long-term pricing strategy in EMEA. Specifically, the role will identify and lead initiatives to assess competitive and regulatory trends affecting pricing and value delivery across the firm's cross-border and UK product ranges. The role will partner extensively and directly with C-suite leaders and Fund Board members to advance dialogue and decision-making around these initiatives. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic frameworks : Develop pricing frameworks and strategies that optimize commercial outcomes for BlackRock, leveraging insights on client, regulatory and competitive dynamics; specifically, establish, influence and gain executive support for an overarching pricing philosophy and long-term strategy around fees and pricing mechanisms across the firm's cross-border and UK product offerings


  • Commercial pricing decisions: Lead and facilitate high impact engagement on live commercial pricing decisions across the platform; working with senior commercial leaders to position strategies for optimal success.


  • Governance : Create governance models and rule sets that drive discipline and logic in pricing across jurisdictions, asset classes and client segments to inform our product development process and tactical pricing decisions


  • Data & technology : Improve pricing-related data and technology infrastructure to drive scale and speed in pricing analyses and changes


  • Regulation: Operate, and continuously evolve, an end to end annual UK Assessment of Value process that drives value delivery for clients and enhances firm's reputation. Anticipate upcoming regulatory requirements that will impact our EMEA product set and develop a commercial strategy to deliver.


  • Analytics : Develop, expand, and evolve cross-border pricing review processes to drive value delivery for clients and defend pricing levels
    • Deliver annual competitive pricing reviews, including recommendations for tactical pricing changes, to Luxembourg & Irish Fund Boards

  • Knowledge and strong understanding of product development ecosystem (products, distribution channels, competitors, trends) preferred
