Who we are looking for:
We have an opportunity for a Life Tax Officer to join the London Life Tax team. That Officer will work with other members of the Life Tax team, will oversight Life Tax client deliverables and have regular communication with clients.

What you will be responsible for:
As a Life Tax Officer you will:
  • Ensure that all Life Tax tasks are completed in line with the service level agreements and all procedures have been followed
  • Take responsibility for the quality of service to assigned clients
  • Identify issues and problems in service delivery and take remedial action, keeping the Taxation Manager informed
  • Ensure effective logging and resolution of enquiries and liaise with appropriate parties to resolve/escalate issues within agreed timescales. Ensure relevant parties are kept appraised of issues if they interfere with service quality
  • Be responsible for organising and attending Service Reviews and ad hoc client meetings whether face to face or by conference call. Ensure any queries raised as a result of the meetings or adhoc queries are answered per agreed timescales
  • Monitor and evaluate the continuing effectiveness of processes, systems and procedures initiating remedial action as necessary
  • Actively monitoring and managing the relationship with the teams that the Life Tax Team performs oversight for. Attending regular meetings and updating action and error logs where necessary.
  • Plan and manage all relevant project work, and assist in development of new products
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with relevant colleagues and contacts in client organisations
  • Act as a source of technical expertise on State Street systems.
  • Provide training on systems for clients and staff as necessary.
  • Provide regular formal and informal briefings on company, department and team issues
  • Set and maintain standards of personal and professional performance/behaviour, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Manage own time and activities effectively setting an example through good housekeeping and time management
  • Promote and implement training and development activities plus oversee where relevant the appraisal process for individuals and the teams
  • Take responsibility for personal development and training. Keep up to date with tax legislative and regulatory tax changes affecting the business

What we value:
These skills will help you succeed in this role:
  • Experience of working in life fund taxation/fund administration/fund accounting or a similar environment
  • MCH/Equity-e knowledge preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, detail oriented and focus on accuracy, problem solving skills, ability to multi-task and ability to work under pressure and to multiple deadlines

Education & Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant degree from University or equivalent /relevant market experience
  • Strong PC skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Tax packages
