As a Barclays SAS ETL Senior Developer, you will be able to develop complicated ETL processes to turn business requirements into Technology data solutions. Providing technically sound solutions for the ingestion, storage and presentation of data through SAS ETL design in line with Business requirements/processes by creating Analytical Ready Datastores.

Hybrid Working
We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?
• Driving the design of scalable solutions while considering recoverable and resiliency requirements
• Employing agile techniques such as task estimation, test automation and deployment automation
• You will convert source to target mappings into ETL code as and when required
• Collaborating with the data modelers and contribute to the physical data model design
• You will understand and adopt the Data Governance Controls/ principles and practice them in day to day activities
• Utilizing Dev-Ops framework during the development activities

What we're looking for:
• You have extensive knowledge of SAS, Relational Databases (Teradata, Oracle etc.), UNIX and other analytic toolsets
• You have experience of delivering complex data solutions to business users and understanding the context and use of the data to build customized solutions
• Broad experience of governance and controls
• You have understanding of consumer credit risk analytics across customer lifecycle and knowledge of financial services portfolios

Skills that will help you in the role:
• You have exceptional interpersonal skills and team player who is able to mentor junior members of the team
• You have familiarity with DevOps and experience with ETL development in Ab Initio or Amazon AWS Cloud
• Broad experience in building large structured and semi structured data stores
• You have the ability to identify and explain any gaps then provide technical solutions to remediate

Where will you be working?
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997.
We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
