Our client, Deutsche Bank, is a global banking business with strong roots in Germany and operations in over 70 countries. Deutsche Bank offer their clients commercial and investment banking, retail banking and transaction banking as well as ground-breaking asset and wealth management products and services.

On behalf of Deutsche Bank, AMS are now looking for an ESG Business Analyst to work in their Treasury team to support the Global Treasury ESG Programme based in London on a PAYE basis on an initial 6 month contract.

The BA will be responsible for assisting in defining Treasury's Target Funding Operating model as part of the ESG Programme and capturing detailed requirements to set up.

Treasury is part of the Finance division with the Group Treasurer reporting to the Group CFO.

Overview:

ESG Bonds (Green, Social, Sustainability and Transition) are proving vital for raising the capital required to transition to a low carbon economy. In this panel we explore how green / ESG issuances play a role in increasing focus at Deutsche Bank around de-carbonisation and other sustainability objectives.

Key responsibilities:
  • Elicit business requirements and target state operating model in relation to Treasury's ESG Issuance strategy and Funds Transfer Pricing demands for the preferential funding treatment for green assets.
  • Support translating these requirements into Programme deliverables and providing routine updates
  • Aligns resources, seeks input from key constituents, and manages others to achieve desired results.
  • Provides guidance on development of the functional requirements and user documentation.
  • Assists in developing implementation/conversion strategy and implementation plan.
  • Gathers and analyses information and develops recommendations to address major business objectives that span multiple, global business and technology areas.
  • Information gathering may require the ability to handle and analyse large scale data across multiple systems and products. Develops process and workflow maps as necessary, recommending enhancements needed to procedures and controls.
  • Adhere to methodologies adopted by the Firm and ensures a smooth transition of product knowledge to all relevant parties in business as usual including business partners for approval.
  • Supports testing of new or enhanced applications and/or systems and provides guidance to junior team members on complex testing tasks including case development, requirement traceability analysis, test preparation, script writing, and functional test execution.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experienced Business Analyst with excellent academic record and qualifications with up to 8 - 10 years' work experience as a business analyst with direct experience of Financial Markets & Treasury products and systems
  • Functional understanding of Treasury products their product lifecycle as well as trade modelling and from a front to back
  • Passionate about ESG and preferably relevant experience in ESG
  • Awareness of various functions of the bank and how they interact with Treasury will be beneficial
  • Strong analytical background and attention to detail, proficient in creating business documents, shaping design solution, and ability to develop and execute test plans
  • Experience in working with or as a part of a Treasury or Trading department in a change or IT capacity
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project
