Job Purpose Statement

The senior software engineer will play an integral role in re-engineering and consolidating CTI Research capabilities to common cloud patterns and architecture. Also supporting and advancing data and compute infrastructure for last mile delivery for quantitative investment models, research, decision systems, and analytics. A successful candidate is a motivated self-starter with an aptitude for learning new skills and environments quickly while multi-tasking on more than one high-priority deliverable. 3rd level support during working hours only

Role Responsibilities

How you'll spend your time....
  • Understand platforms, data, applications and workflows to ensure that the investment process is best empowered through the lens of highly reliable and performant systems.
  • Contribute to project-based work while managing the on-demand workload of pro-active support.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and the front office teams to integrate data quality and monitoring controls into designs and architecture.
  • Lead the code review process to ensure development work adheres to standards and specifications (including peer review and code review external to team).


Key Capabilities

To be successful in this role you will have....
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent (4-years) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience required.
  • 7+ years of experience coding and/or designing in multiple programming languages, including focused experience in relevant/targeted software stack (specific required software stack will vary by position).
  • 7+ years of practical experience and proven success with the design and build of complex software applications in multiple environments.
  • Experience working with vendor partner (on- and off-shore) resources.


Desired Capabilities

  • Proven experience as a Full Stack developer or similar role
  • Knowledge of multiple languages (e.g. C#, Python, R)
  • Knowledge of UI frameworks (RShiny, RShiny Express) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache)
  • Experience working with AWS services (e.g. S3, Glue, EC2, EKS, Athena, Lambda)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
