Job Purpose Statement
To assist with the management, facilitation, monitoring and support of Finance-related operations and projects, including processes, risk management and compliance with internal and external deadlines
Role Responsibilities
How you'll spend your time....
- Assist with management and/or execute ad hoc and routine Finance projects
- Co-ordinate Group Finance timetable and assist in managing issues around the month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting process
- Monthly monitoring of balance sheet investments including periodic posting of revaluations
- The role has no budgetary or dealing authorities
- Assist in managing year end and interim reporting - preparing monthly, quarterly and year-end timetables; coordinating month-end meetings and year-end Focus meetings, capturing, tracking and managing issues to be resolved
- Good communication and relationship with external auditors re YE timetables and deliverables, as well as coordination of PBC process
- Assist with management of corporate projects, and/or execute, ad hoc and routine Finance-related projects from inception to completion
- Assist with the collation, monitoring and tracking of issues, while facilitating solutions within the Finance department for consideration and action
- Monthly/quarterly investment review and reporting to Ameriprise, and periodic posting of revaluations to investments
- Assist with the reporting requirements of Ameriprise Group as required
- Contribute to identifying and implementing procedural efficiency enhancements, risk management processes and financial control improvements.
Key Capabilities
To be successful in this role you will have....
- Qualified or near-qualified Accountant
- Solid understanding of the asset management business desirable
- Project management experience desirable, with track record of managing tasks
- Sound IT ability including intermediate Excel skills
- Good inter-personal skills; ability to communicate with personnel at all levels across the business
- Positive can do/ will do attitude and pragmatic approach to problem solving
