This role is focused on fixed income risk, portfolio construction and development and is multidimensional. It will involve working with a range of stakeholders, including senior Portfolio Managers, and requires a highly skilled software engineer capable of understanding business needs and designing and delivering solutions accordingly.

This team is a small, dedicated team of strats/engineers within a wider large and succesful investment team meaning this role involves working on some highly visible projects that have a material impact on the performance of the team. They are looking for a candidate who has worked as a full stack developer and who is motivated by working in an investment focused context.

There is a need to demonstrate the ability to deliver across the full development lifecycle from understanding business requirements through to testing, deployment, and support. Someone used to working with bespoke, highly responsive, modular systems would be well suited as opposed to those coming from an enterprise focused IT Team.

The team work with technologies including C# / .Net / SQL / SQL Server and WPF Client based, so candidates should have working experience in these languages and be happy using them going forwards. Understanding fixed income markets will be highly advantageous in being able to understand the motivations of the investment team and being able to demonstrate a geniune interest in them is required.

In terms of character, this will suit someone who is highly proactive with strong problem solving skills and who enjoys working in a small, agile team. The team operate a hybrid office/home working approach.

  • Strong academics in a highly numerate / computational subject e.g., Maths / Physics / Computer Science. Masters level and above will be beneficial.
  • Strong (with applied experience) C# development experience (.Net Core, WPF, Entity Framework)
  • Strong SQL / SQL Server experience
  • Positive 'can do' attitude, happy working independently but enjoys working in a team
  • Understanding of, and interest in, financial markets and associated products (ideally fixed income)
