The Role: Consulting Director, Gas and LNG

The Team: S&P Global Commodity Insights (SPGCI) is offering an exciting opportunity to join our European Gas and Power Consulting team as Director for Gas & LNG Consulting. The team identifies, develops and delivers high value consulting engagements for a wide range of public and private sector customers across the EMEA region.

The Impact: You will function as a core member of a fast-growing consulting team, reporting directly to the Vice President for Gas and Power Consulting. You will also contribute to the growth and success of the broader consulting business by providing creative ideas towards client engagement, consulting project execution and business development.

Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include:
  • New business development. Interact with clients to identify core issues to be addressed; develop compelling and responsive proposals; work with SPG sales team and other colleagues to successfully close consulting project opportunities.
  • Project management. Lead consulting assignments for key public and private sector clients across the EMEA region, and globally when required. Effectively supervise junior team members; provide guidance, support and on-the-job learning opportunities. Deliver high quality outcomes which meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Consulting project delivery. Act as a core team member and contribute expertise to assignments both within EMEA region and globally; support delivery of a wide range of natural gas and LNG project types.
  • Marketing. Continuously broaden knowledge across the natural gas and LNG space; build external recognition through interactions with clients, presentations at client, company and industry events, and collaboration with sales/marketing staff.
Regional and occasional intercontinental travel may be required for customer-facing activities, dependent on travel and health advice/restrictions.

Key qualifications and skills required for this role:
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering or industry-related fields; post-graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years working in a relevant consulting or industry role.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial and regulatory aspects of the natural gas and LNG business.
  • Sound/proven experience in scoping, managing and leading advisory work for internal and/or external customers.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues and customers.
  • Strong analytical capabilities: ability to draw robust insights from complex and uncertain data. Able to find innovative solutions to novel problems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and to navigate and excel in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills, including the ability to form strong relationships with key decision makers. Able to build relationships with colleagues and customers of diverse cultures.
