State Street Corporation (SSC) is responsible for the outsource service provision for its clients. SSC has demonstrated excellent success in recent times with major client wins covering in excess of 10 locations worldwide. SSC are increasing its talent to support the planning, development and roll-out of the Enterprise project within the Global Delivery, Middle office operations arena and require keen and experienced investment operations business professionals to play a key role in the delivery of a successful solution.
This is a Governance Business Analyst role, based in Canary Wharf, London. The individual will be responsible for the coordination of UK Oversight Governance activities

What you will be responsible for
As Alpha Portfolio Services Governance Analyst

Governance:
Coordinate UK Oversight Governance activities ensuring that that all outsource arrangements meet the requirements of the GS UK Outsource Framework.
  • Ensure that the complete population of outsource arrangements are recorded in the GS UK Outsourcing Governance inventory.
  • Complete monthly updates to IMS/GS/Business Controls inventories and escalate overdue items to Senior Management when required.
  • Coordinate the timely completion of new Outsource Risk Arrangement Documents (ORAD), working with the Second Line of Defense responding to their feedback and challenge. Ensure approvals obtained from Outsourcing Risk Assessment Owner, Outsourcing Portfolio Manager (or delegate), Risk & Compliance.
  • Coordinate the timely completion of new Service Level Agreements ensuring that all agreements meet the SSBT RRP requirements and obtain both Service Provider and Service Recipient approval/sign-off
  • Track upcoming migrations and operating model changes triggering SLA and ORAD updates
  • Maintain internal registers for both Outsource Arrangements and Service Level Agreements.
  • Coordinate annual attestation RRP arrangements on behalf of Global Delivery, Middle Office.
  • Act as delegate representation for Information Services at the SSBT London Control and Governance forums.
  • Instill a Control and Governance awareness across the Global Delivery, Middle office spectrum.
Monitoring and Testing:
Planning and co-ordination of operational controls testing for Global Delivery Middle Office functions
  • Complete preparation and planning for controls testing, ensuring adequate notice of testing to functional area managers.
  • Conduct walkthrough meetings with each team for understanding of end to end processes; co-ordinate follow ups where needed.
  • Ensure process narrative and initial control observations documented and shared with each in scope team prior to testing date.
  • Capture operational controls subject to testing within the Controls and Testing Workbook.
  • Co-ordinate testing of operational controls, ensuring evidence sufficiently analysed and documented.
  • Complete final observations document for submission to management.
  • Advise on operational control issues to be logged via Archer Issues Management in line with the Issues Management Standard.
Authorized Signature Lists
  • Act as the go to person for complex KYC requirements
  • Assist coordinating any global wide issues - ensuring transparency and accuracy adhered to at all times
Serious Incident Reporting
  • Act as go to person for handling difficult and aged items
  • Ensuring deliverables are being met and escalate accordingly
Ad hoc projects
  • Take on ad hoc projects as and when there is a business need. Ensure they are tracked, monitored and delivered on time
  • Be conscious that communication will be facing the client and upper senior management

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree level - Governance or Operational Risk certifications would be a distinct advantage.
  • PC skills, including office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Candidate must be very organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable and show initiative.
  • Candidate must be self-assured and react well within critical deadlines.
