The Role (Regulatory Reporting Change Team - Senior Analyst):

To provide a high-quality service for M&G plc as part of the Regulatory Reporting Change team. The Regulatory Reporting Change team sits within Controls & Assurance and is responsible for:

Position Reporting
  • Shareholder Reporting
  • AIFMD Reporting
  • MMF Reporting
  • Position Limits Reporting

Transaction Reporting
  • MiFID Reporting
  • EMIR Reporting
  • SFTR Reporting

The Regulatory Reporting Change team covers a wide range of regulations and is divided into three sub-teams, all with their own dedicated Manager. These are the Transaction Reporting Team, the Position Reporting Team and the Regulatory Reporting Change Team. This specific role will be within the Regulatory Reporting Change Team, which essentially sits in between both front-line reporting teams and provides support to both.

The Change Senior Analyst will work closely with both the Transaction Reporting team and the Position Reporting team to ensure the impact of the business and Regulatory change is managed effectively and internal controls and processes are adjusted accordingly. They will also support these teams in meeting BAU requirements as needed.

Initially, this role will be focused on supporting the Position Reporting team, with a longer term aim of expanding support to the Transaction Reporting side, particularly for SFTR. Ultimately the role represents a good opportunity for someone with a Regulatory Reporting background to increase the breadth of their experience across some or all of the Regulations for which the team is accountable.

Positional reporting experience will be an advantage. Transaction reporting experience will also be an advantage, however this will need to be allied with a desire to learn about positional reporting.

Applicants should have strong technical skills, be familiar with the interpretation of Regulation, and should be experienced in data analysis.

Flexibility, good communication and a strong desire to develop knowledge and skills are vital for this role.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Comply with regulatory requirements associated with all activities.
  • To assist in ensuring all relevant accountabilities / responsibilities, objectives and targets set for the team are met.
  • To support the Managers in their activities, identifying areas for self-development and proactively engaging in training where appropriate.
  • To assist with identifying and mitigating risks through the application of business processes and appropriate use of available technology.

Key Responsibilities/Deliverables for this role:
  • Support Regulatory Reporting Change team in analysing and managing the impact of changes in the Regulatory landscape.
  • Support Regulatory Reporting Change team in analysing and managing the impact of changes brought about through internal business initiatives.
  • Where required, take ownership of individual projects and deliverables, utilising effective time management, to ensure deadlines and timeframes are met.
  • Support front line teams in their BAU activities as required.
  • Assist in the collation of data for the Regulatory Reporting governance forums.
  • Continually monitor and improve, where necessary, the processes, controls and procedures associated with the function.
  • Maintaining relationships with both the Transaction Reporting team and the Position Reporting team through the use of effective communication.

Key Knowledge & Experience:
  • A high level of literacy & numeracy and an extensive knowledge of standard applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint is required.
  • Knowledge of other applications supporting data analysis and processing, such as Power BI would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Investment Management activities would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Positional Reporting would be a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of Transactional Reporting, allied with a desire to learn about Positional Reporting would be an advantage.
  • Experience in Securities Lending and/or knowledge of stock loans and repo products captured under the SFTR regulation would be an advantage.
  • Experience in project work/change management would be an advantage.
  • Experience in the analysis of Kaizen reports would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the M&G Group structure or an equivalent Group structure would be an advantage.
