About this role

The ETF and Index Investing (EII) Product Team is responsible for product management, new product innovation and commercialization of the iShares UCITS range across both ETFs, IMF and mandates. Within the Product function, segment leads are the primary commercial axis for execution of client and commercial strategy in the region, aligning it with global client, product and marketing functions for scale.

Role Description
The EII EMEA Product Team is seeking a lead for the Factors segment. iShares currently has a strong range of Factor ETFs in EMEA, with over $46 billion in assets under management, including single, multifactor and Factor ESG funds. The Factor Product Segment Lead will be responsible for building and transforming the way investors understand, analyze and implement Factor ETFs within their portfolios. This role will help drive the education and investment insights to significantly expand our distribution efforts, continuing to position us as the clear market leader and a strong partner to our clients. This role will work closely with the firm's Factor investment strategies platform, as well as partners across Sales, Marketing and the overall ETF business.

Primary Responsibilities:

Establish and provide leadership for growing the adoption of Factor ETFs in the EMEA region. The Segment Lead will be expected to provide overall strategy across product development, sales, marketing, communications, and analytics initiatives. The successful candidate will possess demonstrated experience within the factor investing, strategic thinking, and a desire to be part of a fast-growing team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive the evolution of product segment strategy, including ETF product pipeline prioritisation, messaging, business development and commercial opportunities, advocacy network, tools and analytics
  • Lead a cross-functional virtual team (Product, Sales, Research, Marketing, Portfolio Management) to drive the initiative and provide steering where required
  • Driving commercial strategy for Factor ETFs, leading distribution support across client segments
  • Represent BlackRock ETF and Index Investing Factor business to internal and external stakeholders
  • Position the Factor team for future growth by managing two resources and growing the pool of champions across the wider firm
  • Build relationships with other teams supporting the Factor investment and research process. Closely partner with multiple teams across the organisation in the execution of joint initiatives across index and active, and partner to design and construct portfolios tailored to suit investor requirements and preferences.

Skills & Experience Required:
  • Demonstrated experience with Factor Investing topics (as an investor, research professional or sales)
  • Connections with the industry and an understanding of the needs and demands of clients.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. The successful candidate must have the confidence and ability to persuasively interact at the most senior levels of colleagues, management, and clients.
  • Outstanding interpersonal characteristics, reputation, and team orientation, which will enable her/him to command the confidence, loyalty, and respect of investment colleagues and external constituents.
  • Experience attracting, hiring, setting expectations for, managing and mentoring individuals and/or teams.
  • Fluency in a European language preferred
  • 10+ years industry experience, specifically extensive investment management knowledge and experience
  • Extensive client facing experience (investment consulting/sales), required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize and collaborate vertically/horizontally in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to travel regionally and globally, ~25%.
