As a Climate Risk Senior Manager at Barclays, you will ensure that the firm is on top of all applicable regulatory requirements related to Climate Risk for our key major regulators. You will support the horizon scanning activities across our key regulators, the oversight and governance of the regulators requirements and associated deliverables working with the Climate Risk Team. You will also advise on the delivery of the regulatory book, responses to exams / requests and ad-hoc submissions.

Hybrid Working

What will you be doing?
• Collaborating on key regulatory projects, including capital management initiatives, managing delivery where applicable and advising on the regulatory implications
• Interpreting and horizon scanning of new and emerging regulatory requirements across our key regulators, working closely with internal stakeholders to facilitate these
• Managing and delivering both regular and ad-hoc regulatory deliverables related to requirements by UK, US and European regulators
• Ensuring new regulatory requests and requirements are delivered to the appropriate standards of quality and timeliness
• Supporting Risk-led meetings with regulators through preparation of materials, preparing staff for meetings and ensuring notes and actions are recorded and tracked
• Reviewing the management of regulatory issues relating to Climate Risk including those identified by regulators and potential self-identified issues
• Managing initiatives related to longer term delivery of Climate Risk projects linked to UK, US or European regulations and acting as Subject Matter Expert providing guidance on Climate Risk
• Overseeing of upcoming regulatory processes including interaction with relevant policies, standards and procedures and capturing industry insights through adequate forums and groups

What we're looking for:
• Certified or willing to hold the Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) Certificate (GARP)
• Clear experience in interpreting regulatory requirements, summarising key regulatory publications and extracting what is relevant for Risk, ideally in a Climate Risk related role
• Confident control mind set with a good knowledge of the importance of a robust governance and control structure and what that means for a firm like Barclays
• Demonstrated interest in climate change and its impact, especially on related financial risks

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Proficiency in the use of MS applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and SharePoint
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels
• Highly organised and proactive with solid attention to detail, managing multiple complex projects, delivering within tight timeframes and good judgement and problem solving skills
• Ability to review and challenge regulatory processes and can work effectively both individually and as part of a team

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.
