As a Credit Risk Strategy Analyst at Barclays, the main purpose of your role is to drive insight into credit performance and the optimisation of Barclaycard Payments Corporate and International credit strategies through data analytics, profiling and expert lender led judgement. You will be responsible for the development of credit risk strategies and processes, with accountability for driving profitability and growing the portfolio within the defined risk appetite.

Hybrid Working

What will you be doing?
• Harnessing key expertise in risk management, data analytics, stakeholder management and creating a data vision for enhancing the management of risk across the portfolio
• Providing the opportunity to utilise data from broad sources across internal Barclays Group data and externally available data
• Defining, articulating, building and implementing a data strategy that allows the risk team to leverage all data assets available across new payment methodologies and new markets
• Making critical data available for monitoring and decision making across all areas of the credit life-cycle, enabling risk teams to be fully in control of risk through insightful data and strategy
• Working closely with key technology and risk teams to deliver new data management solutions, ensuring robust processes and controls are in place across all strategy and data work streams
• Challenging existing process and procedures to deliver consistent approaches to data sources, extraction and analytics ensuring full supporting procedure documentation is maintained
• Ensuring production of high quality MI and reporting for Senior Management / Management forums providing clear and accurate portfolio performance metrics
• Assisting with collation of information and analysis to support key Risk projects as and when with clear articulation of recommendations via appropriate approval presentations / forums

What we're looking for:
• Degree in an analytical discipline and a background in data analysis / credit risk / risk analytics
• Advanced understanding of SAS and / or specifically SQL and Excel
• Experience in a financial services company
• Credit strategy experience through all stages of credit risk and product lifecycle

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Exceptional analytical skills and logical thinking
• Good communication and interaction skills with the ability to bring complex data analysis to life
• Solid SAS, SQL and Excel skills

Where will you be working?
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997.
We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
