Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Vice President (VP) for our UK location to service clients for our Fund Accounting Service. They will partner with both clients and colleagues to establish the workflow and client deadlines while supervising staff members. They will be responsible for delivering reporting and day-to-day accounting and support for our clients.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for

The Accounting Manager is responsible for all processes associated with the oversight, management and delivery of client valuations to the Client, including the reporting of daily/monthly/ periodic/as hoc reporting and asset valuation recordkeeping responsibilities for regulated fund accounts. A predominately client facing role, the role also includes management of a team, which includes work allocation, prioritization, performance management and project delivery.
  • Develop and monitor the business plan and budgets for the business unit in line wit corporate goals, ensuring that the corporate strategy is understood and all activities aligned.
  • Provide leadership and support at the business unit and divisional level for all aspects of the business including risk management, operational strategy, resource alignment, cost control, budgeting, project management, business continuity (BCP) and integration of new business.
  • Manage and oversee performance of Shared Services / Centre's of Excellence ensuring that all relevant services are being provided in an efficient and effective manner for all stakeholders and clients. Challenge under-performance and work for continuous improvement.
  • Corporate Governance - Minimise risk by ensuring that the business unit operates in compliance with internal and external regulations and that escalation procedures are followed.
  • Plan and manage all resources, including IT, financial and oversight functions through effective and continuous controlling, monitoring, directing, evaluating and support of State Street staff, management, resources and clients.
  • Keep up to date on industry applicable laws and regulatory requirements, complete mandatory training as directed.
  • Communicate at all levels professionally with impact and empathy.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 12+ years of general ledger accounting or audit experience
  • 6+ years of leadership experience
  • Previous Financial reporting experience
  • Advanced Excel skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
