Job Purpose/ Background

The EMEA Technology and Operations Regulatory Change (TORC) team reports into the EMEA Head of Technology and Operations (T&O). The team provides leadership of change programs for incoming regulations, with a holistic view on impact of the changes across T&O and the firm as well as thought leadership to drive solutions and delivery. This is an exciting time within TORC team with implementation of new Sustainability related regulations and the opportunity to transform our operating platform. The successful candidate will be expected to build a team focused on implementing the T&O Sustainability target operating model, develop subject matter expertise and influence the build out of our reporting capabilities.

The successful candidate and team will work closely with Portfolio Strategists across all investment products, Global Product Group, Client teams, Aladdin Sustainability Lab, BlackRock Sustainability Investments, and multiple Operations teams to implement Operational enhancements and provide subject matter expertise and oversight of our sustainability commitments.

The ideal candidate is someone with strong leadership skills, invested in developing individual careers, can deliver results in a dynamic environment. Creative thinking, confidence to have an opinion and a drive to succeed are also a must.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspire high performance culture and accountability across the immediate team and beyond
  • Lead as a creative problem solver that is focused on building scale and implementing a robust control framework, taking emotional ownership for the work
  • Structure the team, define the scope and remit of roles and drive team evolution as the operating model matures
  • Develop Sustainability regulatory and commercial subject matter expertise and dive deep into topics as they arise to support TORC change initiatives understanding the wider impact of any change.
  • Establishing partnerships with key cross-functional stakeholders and T&O teams to ensure platform change remains focused on the highest priorities
  • Articulate complex sustainability related operational concepts to various audiences in both written and verbal formats
  • Use your creativity and initiative to develop high impact materials for communication with senior management to help with decision making.
  • Responsible for being a culture carrier and champion for DEI.

About you
  • 7+ years of experience in asset management or financial services, ideally experienced in managing teams
  • A highly motivated self-starter, confident and comfortable working from a "blank sheet of paper" to propose creative solutions to complex problems
  • A keen interest in the evolving Sustainability service proposition and operating platform
  • A reputation as a strong, flexible communicator with the ability to convey sophisticated concepts and information in a simple way for all levels of the T&O and the firm
  • Experience in drafting memos and creating presentation materials for senior management is a plus
  • Confidence to thrive on multiple fast-paced and high-profile projects, with strong prioritization and organization skills
  • Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and be able to bring a positive and creative approach to problem solving
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience of working cross-functionally
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic
