The Role: Senior Agribusiness Consultant
The Location: Our team is split between our London, UK office and our Paris, France office, either location is suitable.

The Team: You will be working in the Agribusiness Consulting Team in London reporting to a Consulting Executive Director as part of a team of analysts and consultants providing commercial, technical and strategic advice to clients, principally in Europe. The Europe-based agribusiness team works closely with our global agribusiness consulting and research groups as well as groups working in other industry sectors .

The Impact: Our consulting team provides clients with in-depth, project-specific and custom research and analyses to support their business and investment decisions. Our work ranges from market, feasibility and techno-economic studies to strategy development and transaction support.

Responsibilities:

You will be a key member of the Agribusiness Consulting team. You will play a significant role in all areas of our agribusiness consulting as well as having the opportunity to work and develop specific areas of interest.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Work as part of a team of consultants on very large, highly complex projects; on smaller projects, work independently to execute and deliver the work
  • Work collaboratively across geographies within agribusiness consulting as well as within the wider company
  • Manage and contribute to consulting projects, by applying your specific knowledge base and carrying out analyses on agribusiness issues; b e flexible in working on projects in all areas of agri-food and related industries
  • Conduct agribusiness research and data collection using internal and external sources
  • Format and present data and analyses in consulting reports/presentations with informed and insightful commentary to support internal and external clients
  • Develop proficiency in core consulting methodologies, analytical techniques and tools for market supply/demand/trade forecasts, pricing and cost competitiveness
  • Actively follow relevant agribusiness and wider industry news and trends including agricultural inputs, decarbonization, energy transition, renewables and sustainability
  • Stay abreast of current S&P Global news, events and capabilities
What We're Looking For:
  • 5+ years work experience in the agribusiness or related (including crop protection, fertilizer or bioenergy) industries
  • Substantial agribusiness experience, acquired by working for industry, consulting, technology firms and/or government
  • Post-graduate degree (likely to be in agriculture or a related field)
  • Commercial awareness, with accomplished time and project management skills
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and to navigate and excel in a complex, matrix organization
  • Ability to work within as well as lead and manage project teams
  • Solid leadership skills and the ability to work independently without day to day direct authority
