This could be the role for you!

1. Supporting the Advice Framework Managers in setting, developing and maintaining the advice control framework

Ensuring the advice process is in line with SPW Risk Appetite. Focussing on good consumer outcomes, TCF and the Consumer Duty to ensure SPW remains regulatorily compliant principally through the following areas:
  • Know Your Customer
  • Advice Rules & Guidance
  • Suitability Reports & associated letters

Ensuring that through the above, SPW's advisers have advice guidance and processes that are clear, concise and unambiguous and puts the client first. These must remain compliant, relevant and fit for purpose in their use while feedback is acted upon promptly.

2. Adviser Tooling

To help support that all adviser tooling is fit for purpose in relation to the above in delivering good consumer outcomes and are maintained and used in line with regulator feedback and guidance.

3. Transformational and project work

Undertake required duties as SPW's proposition and strategy evolves by:
  • Supporting the relevant project/change teams/key stakeholders
  • Help produce and write advice proposition and guidance papers for a wide audience including senior management

4. Advising and supporting the business

Provide input, guidance and support to other areas of the business as and when required, including for example:
  • Liaising with the Complex Advice Team, Risk and Operational colleagues
  • Reviewing brochureware and collateral literature for Advisers and Clients

5. Undertake Regulatory Horizon scanning (suitability of advice & associated supporting angles)

To keep up to date with changes in the regulatory landscape. This includes:
  • Changes in Regulation and Legislation
  • Competitor analysis
  • Wider industry application, interpretation and best practice

Qualifications, experience & background
  • QCF Lv4 Diploma or equivalent. Willing to study for QCF Lv6.
  • 1-3 years relevant experience
  • An awareness in the suitability of advice and FCA requirements and expectations.
  • An understanding of Government bodies that are responsible for legislation e.g. HMRC, DWP, TPR etc
  • Technical knowledge in protection, pensions, investments, taxation, estate planning and trusts.
  • A self starter and be able to balance commercial interests whilst delivering good consumer outcomes

CPD: All members of the team are expected to completed the required levels of CPD as per CII or equivalent. 35 hours, with 21 hours being structured.
