About the role:
As a Financial Analyst, you'll have your finger on the financial pulse of the entire organization. Working with a diverse team, you'll be responsible develop, interpret, and implement financial concepts for financial planning and control.
About the team:
The role will work within the Capital Markets FP&A team supporting the Risk group of businesses that have a growing global footprint, working with stakeholders across both revenue and expenditures.
What you will be doing:
Track revenue and expenses on a monthly basis, comparing actual to forecasted figures and make necessary adjustments.
Communicate and present financial results and forecasts, ensuring reports are clear and understood, including assumptions and dependencies.
Detailed review of revenue and expense forecast performance and expectations with business stakeholders, identifying risks, opportunities and required actions to attain annual targets
Perform technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance
Investigation of existing expenditures with a view to identifying cost savings
Consistent review of existing processes to identify improvements or efficiencies
Gather, analyze, prepare and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts.
Meet with department managers to discuss and establish timelines and methodologies for completing budgets.
Perform economic research and studies in areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance and impact of governmental requirements.
Prepare reports for management summarizing results of research, analyses and evaluation of any discrepancies.
Researching, building and collating financial information from various sources, including department leaders and other teams to inform forecast accuracy
Working with stakeholders to escalate and resolve issues to facilitate improved cash collection within the business
Financial analysis as required on various business projects and related initiatives
What you will need:
Bachelor's degree is required, Finance or Accounting highly preferred
Good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles as well as company accounting policies, procedures and standards
Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools
Analytical and statistical examination skills
Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish work to ensure critical deadlines are met
Communication - comfortable to explain financial performance, indicators and metrics to non-financial professionals
Data management and analytical skills - handling and interpreting large sets of data
Process improvement - ability to recognise and instigate improvements to existing processes and workflows
