We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Capital Actuary. The primary purpose of this position is to provide advanced capital modelling and analyses. These analyses are used by internal business leaders for data-informed decision making at group, division, legal entity and product lines levels.

These analyses may relate to various business or regulatory needs, including business planning, underwriting target support, outwards reinsurance structures and pricing, risk management reporting and regulatory & rating agency capital requirements. Solid communication skills are essential.

This role resides within a shared team of actuaries and analysts, meaning that this role will report to a Capital Manager for performance management purposes and, for team/project work, may be accountable to any member of capital team leadership.

What you'll be doing:
  • Collaborate across the team to ensure that work is delivered on time and to a high standard. Solve problems within the team that arise or escalate to a Capital Manager to assist in resolution.
  • Support and manage capital models for regulatory purposes including preparation of the quarterly Bermuda Solvency Capital Requirement (BSCR) and Solvency II Solvency Capital Requirement (SCR).
  • Prepare and present deliverables from team activities to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in capital education and awareness activities with stakeholders and business partners.
  • Recommend improvements and enhancements to tools and processes that support team's work.
  • Develops and maintains models and tools to support effective and efficient analysis.
  • Participate in ad hoc initiatives as they arise.
  • Represent the Department on cross-functional teams.
  • Support corporate goals and principles and communicating those to more junior members of the team.

What we're looking for:
  • Strong experience in a capital actuary or associate position within an insurance organisation.
  • Qualified member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or Associate / Fellow of Casualty Actuarial Society preferred.
  • Experience with stochastic capital model development, model parameterization and/or validation is required. Specific experience with WTW's Igloo Capital Model (ICM) is preferred.
  • Understanding of drivers of capital requirements and applications that support business decisions and risk management.
  • Strong data manipulation and presentation skills are required.
  • Ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
