The Role:
  • The purpose of the role is principally to co-ordinate and author Compliance's reporting to boards and committees across the M&G asset management business to support the Chief Compliance Officer(s) and Money Laundering Reporting Officer in discharging their SMF 16 and 17 responsibilities for providing Compliance Oversight. Core topics include Material Compliance Issues; Forthcoming Regulatory Developments; Conflicts of Interest and Conduct Risk. In addition, the successful candidate will also oversee and report on the delivery of the activities set out within the Annual Compliance Plan and lead the formulation of the 2023 Annual Plan during Q3/Q4 2022.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Regular engagement with the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure that relevant matters are escalated and, where appropriate, included within formal reporting
  • Liaising with Compliance Directors and Team Heads based in London, Singapore, Luxembourg and Chicago, to create, author and submit Compliance Board Reporting
  • Tracking and analysis of relevant KRIs, making suitable escalations where appropriate
  • Produce formal periodic reporting to relevant regulated entity boards on the effectiveness of the management of Conflicts and Conduct Risk
  • Facilitation and creation of the M&G Group Annual Compliance Plan and tracking of progress against the initiatives contained within
  • Be proactive, demonstrate well considered judgements and anticipate emerging risks
  • Develop positive and professional working relationships within the Compliance Function and other stakeholders throughout M&G plc

Skills and Experience:
  • Regulatory compliance experience within the asset management industry (preferred) or banking/insurance industries, including an understanding of UK and other international regulatory requirements
  • Ability to conceptualise and clearly describe complex issues
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter, high levels of initiative and a strong work ethic
  • Strength of character that enables effective communication across all levels of the organisation
  • Experience of preparing Executive/board level reporting would be advantageous
