The Role:

The sales support team is a source of information and support to a number of areas within the Fixed Income business and wider Institutional business group and works closely on joint projects with other business and service areas. The team produce over 800 presentations a year for client and consultant meetings, and business development meetings.

The key relationships for this role are with the sales and marketing teams in the UK as well as with product specialists and fund managers - all based in London. This role will be dedicated to the support of our team of UK sales directors, primarily focused on our Charities client base.

Key Work Level Accountabilities:

Experienced Colleague:
  • Accountable for providing a quality service or product to customers and stakeholders, using skills/experience built through significant practical experience or training
  • For team leaders, accountable for ensuring the team the role supports is delivering a quality service or product
  • Works within established frameworks and procedures, with the freedom to interpret them to solve a range of problems
  • Delivers outputs that are clearly defined, using discretion over how to achieve them
  • Makes suggestions for improvements to the work of the team, based on previous experience and knowledge of similar situations

Key Responsibilities for this role:
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G's operational risk.
  • Help to create sales pitch presentations and client management updates
  • Help to answer queries from external consultants and clients when required
  • Learn about clients, intermediaries and competitors in all markets and ensure all
  • Opportunities are thoroughly understood
  • Use external databases to carry out competitor analysis
  • Work with the other sales support executives to:
    • maintain various sources of data including Staff information, AuM etc.
    • complete ad hoc data requests and questionnaires
    • help to update and maintain a variety of Fund documentation
    • support both the sales and marketing teams with updating and monitoring the CRM system
    • help the rest of the team with specific project work as and when required.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

We are ideally looking for a graduate who has experience working within a fast paced, professional and deadline driven environment. We are looking for you to be a practical thinker with good attention to detail who enjoys working independently and taking accountability within their role. You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills for external and internal stakeholders. You will need to demonstrate the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines along with
being proactive, inquisitive and able to use initiative. It is important for you to be a team player who is confident about working independently.

Experience in asset management is not essential. However, the following attributes are vital:
