  • We do this by harnessing the expertise of our multi-dimensional research team and by applying our active, thematic and engaged investment approach across a comprehensive range of solutions, including ESG-integrated, sustainable and specialist charity strategies.
  • The team has been working with charities for over 25 year and looks after over 300 charity clients from right across the sector. We manage over £5bn of assets for charities, putting us in the top 10 of UK charity investment managers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to maintaining and developing Newton's charity business in the UK by managing relationship with existing clients and engaging with prospects.
  • Build strong relationships and deliver excellent service to assigned Newton charity clients, managing a book of pooled charity clients, mostly £5-25m in size
  • Own and lead client meetings, ensuring consistency and accuracy of information, messaging and positioning (product specialist knowledge required)
  • Promote and pitch for new pooled charity business
  • Conduct off-line meetings and relationship building as required
  • Team based approach but ability to meet with clients on solo basis, representing PMs
  • Supporting / attendance at sector events, seminars, conferences etc
  • Build strong networks with charity execs, trustees and consultants
  • Provide input into product development process
  • Interacting with marketing to ensure consistency of message, including input into RFPs and quality control on all communications to consultants
  • Working closely with a broad set of Newton teams and BNYM employees; including, but not limited to, Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts (fundamental and responsible), Client Service, Compliance, Performance and Investment risk
  • Input on fees and prioritisation of new business opportunities
Skills and knowledge
  • Have a service-orientated mind-set with the enthusiasm, drive and ability to be seen, in the future, as a trusted partner to charities.
  • Results-focused and have the potential to successfully deliver in this role, possessing strong communication and relationship building skills with a view to career development.
  • Appropriate level of written and oral communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative team player, have the ability to use own initiative, and to influence and persuade both internally and externally.
  • Possess a good understanding of the UK Charity marketplace, the needs and required solutions of relevant investors, both current and future.
  • Good network and contacts amongst key investors as well as their advisers.
  • Educated to University level and ideally hold, or be working towards, an investment qualification.
  • Good working understanding of all asset classes and across a range of investment strategies.
