Who we are looking for
The Country Marketing Manager, United Kingdom and Cross Border Markets supports the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies across three large and strategically important markets for State Street in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region - the United Kingdom, Luxembourg and Ireland. The role works directly with the country heads of these markets to adapt and localize global marketing and brand campaigns, aligning them with local business priorities to enhance their relevance and ensure they resonate with local clients and prospects. The role is based in London and sits alongside the majority of the EMEA marketing team. The role is suitable to hybrid working, combining work from home and work from office, with work from the office expected 2-3 per week.

What you will be responsible for
As Country Marketing Manager you will
  • Act as the primary point of contact for marketing support for the Country Heads of the three countries the role supports. Provide marketing and external communications advice to the Country Head and her/his senior management team.
  • Provide project management and support for executing marketing strategies in the selected countries. Activate global and regional marketing strategies and initiatives within the countries and develop bespoke activities a local level, ensuring programs are nuanced for specific country needs to drive business priorities.
  • Support the planning and implementation of key activities related to thought leadership, content strategy, public relations, social media, brand activation as well as events and sponsorships, working with the regional and global brand, content, PR and digital services teams as required.
  • Provide on-the-ground support at major events or conferences in the Irish and Luxembourg markets. Short trips to these markets is likely to be required approximately 6 times per year (x3 per market)
  • Work with the Global Marketing Shared Service Center or approved external vendors to oversee marketing services management tasks including budget, project tracking and reporting and metrics.
  • Receive and respond to, or re-direct, general marketing queries from internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate online content for country specific internet pages and websites, working with the relevant business stakeholders and Global Marketing colleagues.
  • Draft content and create bespoke marketing assets for external audiences, including articles, collateral, newsletters and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Work with local vendors to ensure adherence to internal processes and negotiates costs and manages financial aspects, including invoicing and payments.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders in the local markets as needed.

  • Business level fluency in English is vital along with strong English writing skills and a good knowledge of communications best practices.
  • Experience in developing marketing strategies and implementing these through multi-channel marketing programs.
  • Able to research local market trends and collaborate with local business and product experts to identify thought leadership and insights content ideas that resonate with State Street's existing and prospective clients. Then to work with internal channels and external vendors to create suitable content aligned to these themes.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to interface with colleagues from all disciplines, backgrounds and cultures.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Solid understanding of social media, website content and design.
  • Must be a highly motivated and energetic self-starter who is able to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven hybrid work environment-both independently and as a dedicated team member.
  • Able to work both face to face with colleagues and key stakeholders, as well as operating remotely, as part of a hybrid work environment.
  • Willingness to travel to Ireland and Luxembourg to support key events and marketing initiatives that require on-the -ground support.
  • Experience operating in a complex, global organization with matrix reporting lines and multiple stakeholders would be advantageous.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • University degree, ideally in a communications or marketing-related discipline.
  • Seven to ten years of communications or marketing experience, preferably within financial services
