This new role is part of the expanding ICG Risk and Control Governance and Escalation team working with ICG Business partners, ICG Regulatory Engagement and second line functions to enhance and support the ICG Escalation framework.

The role will be expected to execute and support a range of activities to ensure that the various ICG Escalation processes and reporting is effective, robust and meet the requirements set out in relevant Citi and ICG level Policies, Standards and Procedures and Committee Charters.

Responsibilities include:
  • Support the transition and implementation of the new Citi Escalation Policy and Standard
  • Review escalations submitted by each of the businesses to identify themes, trends and recurring issues
  • Help support the establishment of a central point of capture / tool, tracking, analysis and reporting ensuring completeness and accuracy of central escalation inventory.
  • Back test timeliness of escalation and reconcile across escalation channels ensuring events escalated to right Governance committee
  • Develop periodic reporting for Senior Management and relevant Governance Committees
  • Maintain and enhance ICG Escalation Standard in line with Transformation / Consent Order Programs and undertake annual review
  • Ensure connectivity and feedback into:
    • Governance framework:
      • Ensuring escalations received and that meet escalation threshold criteria are reported in applicable forum.
      • Ensure all escalations reported in Governance Committees are captured in the central inventory/tool
    • Operational Risk framework and Lessons Learned process:
      • Reconciliation of Lessons Learned documents and escalations to ensure alignment and completeness of central escalation inventory
    • Issue management:
      • Ensure where appropriate, escalation remedial actions are evidenced in iCAPs
      • Recurring themes/control failures are highlighted for holistic review & remediation
    • ICG Regulatory Engagement, Legal Vehicles and regional Risk & Control leads
  • Assist with the training on Escalation across the ICG
  • Perform Quality Assurance and challenge on data quality and accuracy of information ensuring that escalations are dealt with robustly and appropriately through sample checking
Qualifications & skills:
  • Strong governance, control and process expertise and knowledge.
  • Ability to analyse a process and recommend ways to improve quality, controls, and efficiency
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills; must be articulate and persuasive.
  • Ability to drive change to business practices by working effectively.
  • Self-starting team player with the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with follow-up and problem-solving capability
  • Experience with Microsoft Access databases, including design, developing queries, reports and macros in a dynamic environment
  • Highly proficient with PowerPoint to develop reporting decks for Senior Management
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
