As a Barclays Corporate Development Manager this is an exciting opportunity where you will assist the Group Head of Strategy and Directors in the execution and origination of M&A activity. This is a great chance for you to broaden experience by periodically working on Group Strategy opportunities, as the need arises.

We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?
• Producing valuations using various valuation techniques, assumptions and sensitivities
• Assisting in the preparation of strategic reviews, participating actively in making recommendations to divest, hold or acquire businesses
• Maintaining the highest standards of governance and risk standards, including compliance with Group and Corporate Development governance policies and standards
• Assisting in developing, maintaining and ensuring consistent implementation of Corporate Development policy
• Developing and maintaining close links with the Group businesses and with external advisors
• Keeping regular exposure to senior colleagues within the Group and externally.
• Developing valuation and financial modelling skills as and when required
• Managing with limited supporting resource. Planning and organizing own tasks using transaction management tools and in collaboration with other functions

What we're looking for:
• Personal flexibility - able to manage projects overseas at short notice
• Degree with exceptional academic results
• Deep Corporate Finance/Investment Banking knowledge and experience, including proven valuation experience
• Excellent accountancy knowledge

Skills that will help you in the role
• FIG knowledge and experience
• Accounting qualification or CFA or MBA
